Freeloader will not encourage piracy, however; it merely removes the region protection of the console. At present, it remains impossible to produce pirate versions of GameCube titles due to the unusual format of the discs used by Nintendo.

Yeah the old one was good but VERY buggy It's probably still buggy (they never seem to fix it in any release, major or minor) but I'll definitely give it a shot.

Well the odd thing is, Roxio has announced this on their website, but beta testers have not been notified of even anymore RC builds from what I've heard and seen. Roxio forgotten about them?

Cool, I want it. I have 5 Platinum and I love it, never had any probs with it at all. But then again, I never tried Nero, only cuz I figure if a patch for it has to be released at least once a week, it can't be very good, lol.

#8 hardgiant on 06 Feb 2003 - 10:02
The cd label maker was pretty good from what I recall. I've been using Nero so long can't remember what Roxio was even like.
#9 stncttr908 on 06 Feb 2003 - 13:13

i was turned off of EZCD Creator back when XP came out because of all the problems it created with the OS.. patch after patch..they couldnt seem to get it right. i'm sure its fixed by now but the damage was done.

I like ECCD and have already pre-ordered my copy. Nero is fine sure, but I haven't had any problems with ECCD (ever) and why change. What i've found is the Nero supporters are the same people that support Nvidia. "If it's not nvidia it sucks!" And the ECCD users are everyone else "Yeah sure, Nvidia is fine, but why change when I like what i have" It's kind of stupid if you ask me... Proof: Look at any post (forum or news) about Roxio and at least 5 people will say "ECCD sux use Nero" You never see the ECCD users say that DISCLAIMER: These were analogies. This did not imply that if you use Nero that you use Nvidia cards as well. This was JUST a comparison of attitudes.
#15.1 iomayho on 07 Feb 2003 - 08:52
totally agree
#16 JLP on 06 Feb 2003 - 17:45
Nero is still the best. Fast and powerfull.
#17 Zelpus on 06 Feb 2003 - 18:29
I usually say nero sucks, hell I used to use it but I have had so many problems with it I stoped using it. As for ECCD it does what it says it does and it does it decently cant ask more than that.

I once made the mistake of buying Cheesy CD Creator 4. It allowed me to rip audio at a whopping 0.9x! (Yes, slower than real-time). Roxio has always made garbage software. It's unbelievable that Microsoft licensed it for XP's built-in burning capabilities.
#19 divers on 06 Feb 2003 - 18:48
Even if they have version 8 9 or 10....., they never can compete with NERO. I've used EZCD for a very long time, but NERO stole my heart a year ago : :
#20 hamslammer on 06 Feb 2003 - 19:18
I have also used Easy Coaster Creator some time ago and found it to be very lacking. It is absolutely the most bloated piece of software I have had the misfortune to use. It was a total fiasco when XP came out, they never really got it right. I found Nero at that time and would never EVER consider going back to this worthless piece of crap.

I have tried both Easy CD and Nero, for my uses Easy CD works fine...I keep wondering why these folks keep getting coasters, perhaps they need a simpler program, so they don't get confused with all the little buttons. I get a kick out of the Nero Rules, EZCD bloatware crowd...aparently they need to brush up on their skills when installing programs. If all you install is Easy Cd, it's only around 5300kb...I guess they are afraid to use the custom install feature. I would bet that about half of them are using pirated copy's of Nero too.

#21.2 mtnsteve on 09 Feb 2003 - 02:08
Point taken... Funny, with all the new Nero ad-on's comming out, it wont be to long till they cost the same and both can be called bloat ware, lol.
