Paint Shop Pro is a complete graphics and photo editing tool that offers the easiest, most affordable way to achieve professional results.

Beta 4 is a regular beta update. It addresses a number of issues that have been found throughout the beta. We recommend that all users update to Beta 4.
You must uninstall any existing beta prior to installing Beta 3 using Add/Remove programs found in your Control Panel. If you receive a choice of keeping or removing existing settings, select remove.
Beta 4 will expire on April 22, 2003

If you moved scripts from the restricted folder to the trusted folder to work around the restricted execution problem, please delete them before installing the new version. The B4 installer will put new copies in the restricted folder, leaving you with two copies of each script.

[neoquote=#2.0 by CoCoLUS]photoshop all the way yea i know it's more expensive...[/neoquote] I've tried Photoshop but don't understand why so many like it. I find Paintshop so much nicer and easier to use, and just as powerful. Photoshop is totally way overpriced as it is.

I fail to understand peoples need to comment on software, they do not use - nor seem to like. If this was a post suggesting that PSP is better than PS, or in anyway compared the 2. I could understand the desire for you to want to post a comment. But since it is an announcement of a new beta release. I fail to see the need to make such a comment. And I am glad you know its more expensive. Since that must of been a tough concept to grasp? You can rest now - since I am sure that your comment has convinced atleast a thousand people to go out and spend the 6 bills for PS vs trying a beta copy of PSP for FREE.

i never said that i don't like paint shop pro, or that i don't respect the work the developers put into at such little price we have to pay for it. i noticed the psp vs. photoshop duell 2 times before when news about psp/photoshop was posted, so i had the impulse to "be the first who starts it in this thread and create reactions like yours", call me childish if you want to. last, if such a post as mine convinces someone to spend a large amount on photoshop, they have a major problem anyway, because basing such a decision on a one-liner (without reasons) at neowin is not a good idea in my eyes hope i cleared this up, cocolus

Man, these beta's really suck! I've taken one of my digital camera pictures, 2048 x 1536, then tried to resize it to 640 x 480, but the memory allocation for PSP goes through the roof! The virtual memory shoots up to 442 MB, then the regular memory gets to about 224 MB and I guess it's really paging by this stage. I eventually had to use task manager to get my machine back and kill psp...

Could you post the picture you are trying to resize. I would really like to see that, since I have not been able to reproduce that problem. I just reduced a 4000x3000 picture in seconds, with no hangups and or hiccups.

Oops, my mistake, I feel really silly about this! I had the resize to 640%!!! (Sneaks out of view quietly....)

lol... that does the trick memory wise then.
