2.9 is much less eyecandy, faster, and overall better for anyone that wants to multitask with things such as games. 2.x works flawlessly running in the background with games, 3.x takes up much more memory & cpu usage , which in turn takes away from anything else running.

buy a new computer then... winamp 3 runs fine on my computer... i dont notice it during games. The mmd theme makes it nifty and small... suits me.

It has nothing to do with buying a new computer. For some people 3 runs good, for others it doesn't. It is fully of buggy code and has quite a few memory bloat issues.

I concur with Qumahlin..

WInamp 3.0 is ANYTHING but fast. When it was first released I tried it, and have given it the benefit and tried it several more times, but gave up. Too slow, less features I like and older fav skins make it crash. Trying 2.91 beta now.....

The fact that it takes 2 seconds longer to load bothers you people that much? That's the only slowness you'll see is in loadtime.
