- People REALLY need to check out Avant Browser. It is IE, with all the new features of Opera. You get the stability and compatibility of IE with all of the new features like gestures, tab windows, pop blocker, etc. all built into IE. Opera is the alternative to Avant Browser. Avant Browser ownz!

- I used to use AvantBrowser a lot but I'm really liking what Opera is doing. I haven't used AvantBrowser for about a week and haven't used IE in probably a year. Most of the probs I did have with opera are now gone so I'm pretty happy.

- Surely if AB uses the MS IE backend which is surely even more of a reason not to be using it. You'll be signed up to passort in no time, registered for MSN emails and will be getting a MSN message from Bill wishing you happy birthday and that you should upgrade to Server2003. Opera from what I can tell is made by a couple of Scandanvians guys originally on their spare time and IE is made by the worlds worst global megacorp. Support a better product.

- so because IE is made by a large corporation it's worse than opera? that makes no sense. opera can't render some pages I visit correctly. IE is better for me.

- Did you email the website and mention ot them that it did not display correctly in Opera? If you run a popular website its generally a good rule of thumb to make sure it views cross platform. Theres already rumours that MSN based sites reporting incorrect information to Opera users - A crazy plot of corporate terrorism maybe? Ffor years M$ have stiffled competition and generally make it hard to compete. Even though this web browser market is an even playing field - its hard to say its even when Opera (or Netscape or Avante Broswer or anything for that matter) don't even get to be included in the XP install. And hey anyone can just use the browser their OS forced on to them - I suppose its like buying a car and leaving the factory stereo in it.

Opera 7.1 is going final soon. As you can see, it's mostly UI fixes going
in now.
Non-UI Core improvements and fixes are scheduled for 7.2.
The most wanted feedback now is bugs or behavior that makes your desired
way of browsing an annoying experience.
BTW: Progress bar graphics will of course return before final.
Changlog since Beta 2:- fix for progress status text
- a few focus fixes
- a few drag'n'drop fixes
- Alt-F4 fix
- fix for popup menu position in certain scenarios
- fix for certain dialogs not centered properly in multimonitor setup
- fix for adding duplicates to slideshow
- fix for open link in background window
- fix for pages inheriting settings
- fix for irritating flicker when minimizing browser window

- print button shows print dialog again until we find out what caused it to fail without it.
- .. and all those things I for some reason don't bother to mention..
