- Where did this come from? It isn't on the Kazaa Lite webpage.

- From here: http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?s=686647882421b157172205c9c045f858&act=ST&f=47&t=36524&st=0
It's old news though. The Delvp team keeps asking people not to post the RC/Betas on Tech sites.
BTW, by 'the Kazaa Lite page' I hope you ment: www.k-lite.tk not that stupid fake www.kazaalite.com

- What else is there to use if you don't use K-Lite and others like it?
-
#4.4 Posted by SpaceManSpiff on 11 Jun 2003 - 16:53
- DC++ Best p2p ever. It's a cross between IRC and KaZaA
-
#5 Posted by net-cruizer on 09 Jun 2003 - 17:45
- This RC build has been available for around 2 weeks now.
Mine is still rc15 but I have the files that are in rc16 since nothing is actually new.
I recommend getting this new build, it's pretty cool. K++ keeps gettin better and better.

- Why is this not posted on the kazaa lite home page? Is this version from another company/programmer/etc? Just wondering why.
-
#7.1 Posted by net-cruizer on 09 Jun 2003 - 19:47
- It's not posted cuz it's a release candidate, thats why it says RC 16. It's not a final yet. It's listed on the K-Lite Test Builds site though and has been for around 2 weeks, well at least a week and a half anyways.

- Does K++ support ogg/ogm files?
-
#8.1 Posted by net-cruizer on 09 Jun 2003 - 19:50
- K-Lite is a p2p app, it's for downloading files. However, the files that are downloading can be previewed in whatever app you want to use for a certain file type, so if you want ogg, then preview it in whatever player you use that plays that format.

#9.1 Posted by trashpickinman on 09 Jun 2003 - 22:33
- file can also be found on the donkey and on kazaa, search for "klitekpp211rc16e" (without quotes of course)
-
#10 Posted by Grahnman on 09 Jun 2003 - 21:21
- Kazaa Lite is just awesome. The accelerator rocks, auto-search rules and being a "super-user"
is nice too.
Just superb.

- You guys need to check out DC (Direct Connect) and SoulSeek (www.slsk.org)
KaZaa is weak. Bring on the future of P2P. KaZaa is a thing of hte past. -
#12.2 Posted by Divide Overflow on 10 Jun 2003 - 02:09
- Direct Connect is a nice idea, but it's community sucks ass. Most hubs don't allow you to connect without gigabytes of **** to download. I've seen servers go as high as 50 gigabyte minimums. ****, I've only got about 34 gigs of movies, and I actually have bills, so a new 200 gig hard drive is kinda tough to come by.

#12.3 Posted by tomasarson on 10 Jun 2003 - 03:58
- totally.
i'm a fan of overnet myself. -
#12.4 Posted by tscallions on 10 Jun 2003 - 14:13
- I have used eMule in the past. I liked the selection, but I never, never, never got decent download speeds. It didn't matter what I was downloading, I only got about 5 to 10kbs, but I was sure uploading at around 37-60kbps. I don't like how that works.

#12.5 Posted by

- but looks like P2P's past is giving me the best results.
Kazaa gives me the fastest speed out of all you listed and I can download without having to have tons of uploads/bandwidth like DC, not to mention with great convenience. -
#12.6 Posted by Who_am_i_ on 10 Jun 2003 - 19:35
- eMule/eDonkey network is the future.
Everytime I install emule and then connect -- it tells me can't find something and I have low bandwidth...........
I am running on 512 DSL --- what's up
Tried to D/L 640 mb *.iso and it said 3 day d/l ????
I shut off firewall .........could it be my ISP ( a Telco) ?
Peace ............

- I have K++ version 2.0.3 v.
It doesn't say anything about RC on it and the filename is called kazaa_lite_210_kpp_edition_english
There was a release awhile ago that was newer than my version and every said it was bad because you HAVE to share or something so I didn't use it. Does anyone else remember this? Does this new version work well? Should I update mine? Thanks.
-
#13.1 Posted by net-cruizer on 10 Jun 2003 - 00:20
- Yep, I remember that one. All that was done was the option for disabling sharing was greyed out. Just needed to edit with reshacker and unhide it, or even simpler, change the setting in the windows registry.
Anyways, that option to disable sharing is back, has been since that release where it was taken out, so now it just displays a message telling you why you should share, lol.

- I remember K-Lite requesting sites not to post news bout Test builds.
From the test builds website
QUOTE The Test Builds are for testing purposes only and NOT the public final versions yet.
Do NOT post the downloads on tech sites!
-
#14.1 Posted by net-cruizer on 10 Jun 2003 - 03:12
- It's linking to their downloads they don't like. When they notice people are linking to the downloads, they change the address a bit, lol.
-

- yea, i love kazaa (besides it emule and dc++)
-
#22 Posted by net-cruizer on 10 Jun 2003 - 17:41
- One thing I think some people may be getting mixed up, is K-Lite K++ is not Kazaa.
Basicly it is a whole different p2p app altogether that uses the fast track network.
You can't even really compare K++ to even Kazaa Lite itself. K++ r00lz.
As soon as the creators of K++ figure out the source code of Kazaa Lite, it will be totally different and even more awsome than it already is.
K++ is worked on all the time, making special tools and adjustments, etc. etc. and lots of other people are working on cool features and add-ons.
They just picked Kazaa Lite to use as a base, seeing is that it uses the fast track network which is huge. So using some other p2p app, even if it is good itself, will not function at getting the files you want cuz it won't have the big user base that Kazaa, Kazaa Lite and K++ have.

- bittorent is the future
-
#23.1 Posted by Summoner on 10 Jun 2003 - 19:22
- Nah, BitTorrent sucks because not enough people keep the transfer window open after they're done downloading, so no one can upload from them.
BitTorrent houses too many leechers over servers so the downfall of this file transfer program will arise soon. Sorry to break it to ya.

#24 Posted by avifear on 10 Jun 2003 - 20:04
- I find this build to be kinda buggy.
Well, maybe the final version will be better...

#25 Posted by hockeykkj on 11 Jun 2003 - 02:06
- but what's all this business with FastTrack being unsecure (and why Morpheus left FastTrack)? I've tried overnet and the files you get on it (games, movies, etc.) are top-quality when using sharereactor, but i pretty much only dl music and the downloads literally take days (edonkey is slower still). people saying "this app is the future" need to say WHY. People saying "edonkey/emule is the future" need to realize that those programs are extremely un-userfriendly (never tried emule, but edonkey is a pain in the ass to figure out how to work it efficiently, and it takes patience and time to find good servers). K++ on the other hand is simple to use and it is relatively easy to get the stuff you want at good speeds. I'll wait for the final version to come out though.
-
#25.1 Posted by net-cruizer on 11 Jun 2003 - 02:25
- K++ is super fast. I'm only on adsl and I can download a gigabyte in an hour, which probably is pretty slow compared to lots of other peoples download speed/times.
Anyways... KL Extensions just went final today, that's all that was being waited for, so the final release of this K++ version should be available imediately I'd imagine.
KL Extensions is basicly the main part of K++ since the kazaa lite exacutable is never changed becuz the K++ creators don't have access to the source code.

#26 Posted by net-cruizer on 11 Jun 2003 - 14:17
- No point gettin RC16 when RC17 is out now.

- RC 17 is OUT
Get it HERE ~ 2.46Mb
Also you may want QuickTime Alternative 1.10 ~ 5.61 Mb -
#27.1 Posted by net-cruizer on 11 Jun 2003 - 22:54
- The K-Lite Test Build site would be much easier to reach, if the @ss-holes at "softnews" would stop linking to the downloads directly.
They are the cause of the address being changed all the time.
It says right on the Test Builds site... NO LINKING!!!
