Actually, it is known that minor updates will continue to occur until you see the build available from the main page.

I am told that there is a remaining bug in the OGG v1.34 decoder so instead of keeping the current 1.33 build they are trying to remedy the problem and release WA 2.92 with OGG 1.34
This current "pre-release" contains OGG 1.33

2.92? When was 2.91?
Quote this comment #3.1 Posted by Phil Gates on 14 Jun 2003 - 01:15
around march i think. it wasn't a good build and i personally switched back the the version before that. it included the video support in 2.91.

I have found a bug....
Insert a CD (In WinXP to load in WMP9, while Winamp is open)
Close WMP9
Attempt to rip on Winamp.......

CRASH!!!

Also, is anyone else noticing that it takes like 15minutes to rip a cd in OGG format?

(Note: Posted @ Winamp Forums)

Yes...but that's because the CPU power required to rip into OGG is much greater than that required for MP3 encoding.

If your CPU crashes because you give it a 'hard' task you have a very messed up computer.
Quote this comment #4.3 Posted by Solarix on 14 Jun 2003 - 04:48
same here if i load a cd and it tries to go to a next track it crashes...
Quote this comment #4.4 Posted by zivan56 on 14 Jun 2003 - 05:33
It takes less than 1:30 mins to encode and rip an OGG file on my P4 using CDex, same time is required for MP3 also.

zivan, he is speaking about an entire CD, not just one track.

This isn't necessarily true. Although many system glitches can be attributed to hardware (cache memory, conflicting devices, etc...), many more can be caused by coding (improper DLL references, bad API calls, memory leaks, etc...).

It's just a fact of windows software that programmers learn to deal with.

How the hell do you get this thing to recognize the Lame.dll? I put it on the plug-ins folder and nothing. It still doesn't recognize it.

Go here for the files needed to add support for LAME to rip to mp3 format.

There's also another thread here.

now i got that lame enc dll file. and how do i encode cds now?
Quote this comment #13.1 Posted by Unforgiven on 14 Jun 2003 - 08:41
get out_lame plugin here
Quote this comment Reply to this comment #14 Posted by Sickmyduck on 14 Jun 2003 - 10:15
the lame ouit plugin is not the same thing. Winamp 2.92 has the ability to rip cd's. When you put the lame enc dll and another dll (both are available for download above) in the plugins folder, MP# (LAME) appears as an option for ripping cd's. Too bad it doesn't work right. Keeps giving an erros message.

Stated by a one of the developers themselves, it's not official, it's a leak.
