Thanks coffeee & James for the heads up

"We're very pleased to announce that the first full release of 1.2 is now in the download area and is still available at no cost.

Invision Power Board v1.2 has been proved stable and we're very pleased with how far its developed in the last 18 months. We believe that it offers a good range of features with a clean interface to work from.

This year has seen many changes to our structure but our commitment to offering free software with commercial quality support hasn't changed. Our registered customers will be pleased to learn that we've added more support forums in addition to the ticket center and our staff have been refocused to give full priority to these areas.

Our free support forums have been moved into the community section and is proving to be very active and productive.

We thank you for your continued patronage."

I hate how they are slowly converting IPB into a pay product, first IP Chat, now IB Dynamic and no free support from them.

Well...in their defense...it is a quality product that has been given out for free basically. Think about it like this...their competitor...VBulletin...charges to use their board, and yet Invision beats it.

They have thier own mouths to feed as well. They shouldn't waste time feeding others' pleasure at their expense.

phpBB2 is a better bulletin board than both of those, and their support is solid + free. A true open source product

dude quick reply.. IP CHAT and IP Dynamic both suck... go take a look at IBplanet and find all the mods you need. The things invision includes are for newbies. Hack it out and into the board to get real results. All it takes is a little html and coding knowledge.

yay, too bad i have to make skin files again
#7 newsgeek on 07 Aug 2003 - 16:06
Well, its not too difficult to skin. I tried it out locally on my machine and it runs pretty well.

I love this version! I created my first Skin, if you want to check it out go here
http://www.jacionline.net/board/
I used some icons from arkitus.com but i made the skin
#9 DOCa Cola on 08 Aug 2003 - 07:40
so, is it hard to convert 1.1 skin files to 1.2?
#10 Juguard on 08 Aug 2003 - 08:47
remember guys, you cant make a software base on a skin. The skin comes last. Thats like saying, how come my '87 Corvette cover does not fit the 2004 Corvette, you want your money back? ...heh...
