Adobe announces shipment of new full-version upgrades of its market-leading creative applications. Photoshop CS, the feature-packed successor to the highly popular Photoshop 7, is available along with Illustrator CS, InDesign CS and GoLive CS - all already hailed as significant enhancements on previous versions. Instead of traditional version numbers, Adobe is now using "CS" to identify these new versions, in order to better reflect the deep level of integration between its creative tools.

Adobe GoLive CS is a full-version upgrade of the powerful, integrated Web publishing tool for creative professionals involved in Web design. Available as a stand-alone software application, or as a key component of the Adobe Creative Suite (also now shipping) GoLive CS speeds web site design and production. GoLive CS includes innovative capabilities such as Package for GoLive from Adobe InDesign®, GoLive Co-Author™, advanced Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) visual authoring and extensive support for Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF).

Adobe Illustrator CS is a full-version upgrade to the industry standard for vector graphics for print, the Web, and other media. Available as a stand-alone software application or as a key component of the Adobe Creative Suite (also now shipping) Adobe Illustrator CS includes powerful new design tools, enhanced Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) support, new print capabilities and wholesale performance improvements that speed up everyday tasks and take advantage of advances in hardware and operating systems.

InDesigni CS is a landmark release of its award-winning layout and design program. Available as a stand-alone software application, or as a key component of the Adobe Creative Suite (also now shipping) InDesign CS delivers powerful production capabilities, creative freedom and cross-media support — enabling customers to design, lay out and print pages, as well as export content to the Web, more rapidly and reliably. Distancing itself from the competition, InDesign CS takes layout and design to a new level for creative professionals with a wealth of innovative new features.

Adobe Photoshop CS is a dramatic full-version upgrade to the professional standard in desktop digital imaging. Available as a standalone software application, or as a key component of the Adobe Creative Suite (also now shipping) Photoshop CS is loaded with indispensable new features that help creative professionals craft the highest quality images more quickly and efficiently than ever.

Yeah, it's much more expensive than Windows XP, and with XP you have to activate the damn thing!

Note: This was not meant to insult Italians in any way. It was only meant to be humorous due to the pronunciations.

Can't they just call it 8.0? CS sounds like ForceWare.

LOL, it might "have" to be activated, but I just guessing that the hacker community
has already started, if not already cracked it.
I'll stick with version 7.x, it's just getting too expensive to upgrade Adobe PS every
year. If I was a NYC magazine photo editor, 150-300 bucks to upgrade would be
no big deal, but I'm just your average joe that wants a QUALITY product to do
touchups. Paint shop pro is ok, just not as refined. Oh well, I'll just stick with 7,
it seems to work ok for my needs.
