Thanks OPaul. MyIE2 is a powerful multi-page browser based on the IE core (IE5.x or IE 6.0 required). It can open multiple web pages in just one window. And it only takes a little system resource when surfing with a greatly integrated user interface. It also supports special Plug-Ins & IE Extensions to let you have an enjoyable surfing experience.

Changes in this version:
  • Better XP VS support in Tab and status progress bar in no skin mode.
  • Add 'Reset to 0' button at 'Filtered Address Log' dialog.
  • Support for Dictionary.com toolbar.
  • Add new plugin function: m2_plugin_foler( string plugin_name ) . Return the local folder of the plugin.
  • When control key is hold, adhunter will be bypassed.
  • Favorite bar recent visited favorites button.
  • Fixed can not save same title tab into group problem.
  • Fixed Drawing problem under XP VS.
  • Fixed when restore from crash page and select No. Starting option was set to blank.
  • Bold selected tab works in skin mode.

Holding CTRL will also bypass the popup filter I believe, allthough it doesn't say so in the release notes.

The "Recent Favorite button" on the left in the links bar will only be filled when you click on a single link in your favorites. If you choose "open all favorites" it will not end up in the list.

I totally agree with you, that focus problem can be irritating, interrupting my workflow occasionally...but yes, it's nearing perfection

Ah, they fixed the skinning problems at last, too.

highly recommended! it even fixed my long time VS redraw bug near the top-right of a MyIE2 window.

just check (here in neowin) how many updates (bugs "fixed" ) needs ie and you will see whats the problem with ie core...

as opposed to the problems gecko engine had in the past? nothing is perfect. firefox is a ****ty browser, based on a decent engine. but i guess you didn't know myie2 had gecko support now anyway? the least you could do is know what you're talking about.

Any holes in the IE core will be in windows. Which means, using an alternative browser on windows does not really protect you from anything. Since all other programs on windows use elements of that core, to work. As far as page rendering goes, IE will be superior as long as windows controls most market, which means web pages for the for seeable future will continue to be designed for IE. In other words you can make all the standards organizations you want, but if you don't control the market, or don't control the market leader don't expect you products to be the best. Unless you plan on following their (market leaders) rules. For the record I am a Fire fox user.

I actually rarely find pages I can't display in FireFox perfectly fine. The thing I try to keep reminding people about is that FireFox is still in beta, and is regardless still a viable alternative to IE. It has done wonders for the UNIX/Linux experience as well.

In regards to changing the market, don't worry, rumours about FireFox will slowly trickle down to the general internet user.

In regards to the security of an alternative not improving the security of browsing, well, I have to say that one of the biggest security advantages FireFox has over IE is it's lack of ActiveX implementation, so yes it will make a difference. Although it seems MS is set on fixing some things in XP SP2 (which is a step in the right direction), not everyone in the world uses XP or has even updated to SP1. Anyways, just my 2 cents...

(I actually keep as standard an older test build with sized popups because it's much easier to use, should be great when it's in 1.0 with all the VS support.)

No, it has a helper plugin IF you choose to install UCMore (not included in any MyIE2 package), that's all

UCMore is no longer as much an adware. They cleansed up their act and works pretty fine now actually.

you can easily disable it.. and it's not really adaware.. just an extra search bar plugin.. like google.com bar.. i think so anyways not 100% sure.. but for me it's not reported in anyway in ad-aware programs ..

i LOVE this browser. i've used mozilla, firefox and IE and this by far is the most customizable, has the most incredibly useful plugins and works very well. i've been using it for a long time now as well and haven't looked back.

MyIE rocks!

I've got MyIE0.9, IE6, Opera7 & Firefox0.8 installed, and I'm almost solely using MyIE. Only very rarely do I need to switch to one of the others because something is not working correctly (and that's mostly with sized popups, which is going to be implemented in v1.0)

Everybody keeps saying that Firefox has everything that MyIE has.. But for me, Firefox just doesn't feel right. MyIE does.

firefox has a lot of things missing that you have to get through their lame extensions. a basic install had like four options people actually want in a browser, everything else is basically another Internet Properties. myie2 has so much more than firefox, and implements it better.

i think its silly to have a browser use more than 1 web page renderer, more bugs crop up and its adds unneeded bloat.

Best browser so far and microsoft core is only advantage IMHO, IE has very powerful engine for build "smart" client applications(even Longhorn uses many of IE ideas).

Best piece of software I have ever used is MyIE2 - I have been using it for about 7 months myself -- I love this browser so damn much - the plugins, features and everything about this browser blows away every other browser. PERIOD.
