#2.1 AJAJ on 15 May 2004 - 17:26
Actually yeah. Works perfectly with my laptop and corrects a standby error in older drivers.

Yeah man, i couldn't believe it myself
I've got a Geforce FX5300 in my laptop, and after installing this driver i could finally play Far Cry at medium detail in stead of low.
Who knows, maybe the next beta will take us to high detail ...
Anywayz, this driver roxxx !

Does it fix the desktop icons bug where all the desktop icons change to the default XP ones?
#3.1 ^vøødøø on 15 May 2004 - 16:48
Are you sure thats a bug?
Try this in Control panel/Folder options/View and disable Launch folder windows in a seperate process having that enable can and does revert icons back to default sometimes
#3.2 stevan on 15 May 2004 - 19:12
actually mine's disabled but whenever I rename the icons on winxpsp1 desktop, they revert to the default name.
#3.3 Almighty1 on 16 May 2004 - 10:15
That problem was fixed with 60.72 and later drivers.

i really don't get the nvidia drivers, when i check the driver version that i am using in my properties, says i have 6.14.something, but this one is a totally different number.

i have a geforce fx go5200
#6.1 skaife on 15 May 2004 - 23:55
Yeah that's right. It should be something along the lines of 6.14.10.6112.
The numbers that you're looking for are the 6112 at the end -- hence 61.12 drivers.

Don't ask me what the other numbers' significance is though...

#7.1 Avi on 16 May 2004 - 03:55
It works great for desktops (verified here).
#7.2 CoLdFuSi0n on 16 May 2004 - 06:28

installed and uninstalled after no mare than 15 minutes of trying them out... i got over a 25 fps DECREASE in unreal tournament 2004... since that is right now my game of choice, that was literally all i needed to see... i got rid of the suckers right away upon seeing that... now i can only hope and pray the official ones dont do the same exact thing
#9 905punk on 16 May 2004 - 10:48
before using Forceware i couldnt run anything in 640x480 or 800x600 i had to use 1024x768 , which was find for cs and halo....but i couldnt play Diablo II in that (800x600 ma, after installing these drivers everything worked fine (was getting Sync. Out of Range error)
#10 slapnuts_ox on 16 May 2004 - 19:56
personally i'd wait since in a review nvidia gave them 65.xx drivers to use so these are probably a good bit older

Raised my card's idle temps by 6 degrees.
#11.1 Jdawg683 on 17 May 2004 - 01:22
dang... 6 degrees by drivers? never heard of such a thing... are you sure it's not ambient temps?
#12 campincarl on 19 May 2004 - 06:44
