The purpose of the Omega Drivers is to provide gamers with an alternate set of drivers, ones that have more options and features than the original sets. The drivers contain optimizations, extra features (like OC capabilities), more resolutions and internal tweaks that can give them the edge in a gaming enviroment over the normal drivers, which are often tailored for synthetic benchmarks. All Omega driver sets are tested (unless noted) by myself in my own PC or in an alternate PC (in the case of the nvidia drivers) to ensure maximum compatibility and reliability.

    What's New? (2k/XP 2.5.76)
  • Based on the official Catalyst 4.9 drivers.
  • Removed ATITool from the package, it had many bugs and disabled a lot of stuff, like DVI support and DDC. If you have it installed, I recommend that you uninstall it before installing this set of drivers.
  • Re-Enabled Overclocking Anti-Protection, it was missing from last release, sorry.

  • Modified the ATI CP, now the Omega Drivers will use a built-in, special RadLinker
version with the following features: (some new, some old)

    • Uses NO resources.
    • Some new settings for both D3D and OGL.
    • Can set Automatic Per-application profiles for OGL & D3D applications.
    • Desktop Gamma is working and NOT resetting to default after exiting a game.
    • Integrated Overclocking.
    • No need for Gamma Hotkeys anymore since you can now set an individual Gamma value for each game in their profile and done.
    • This new CP was made in conjunction with ChrisW, maker of Radlinker, as an exclusive feature for the Omega Drivers and we will keep adding features in future releases.

  • Modified driver installation/uninstall procedure with several new automatic features.
  • Since RadLinker is now a vital part of the Omega Drivers, it will not be an option
to select during setup anymore, it will now automatically look for and uninstall ANY
previous version and replace it with the new one.
  • Now, when uninstalling the Setup tools from the Omega options in the Start Menu, you
will also have the option to uninstall the Display drivers in one pass.

ur not supposed to get an increase in score on ur 3dmark the omegas are for image quality vs stability vs framerate. they are meant to give u the best quality with more stability then the originals. thats all the omegas are for. but other then that they are good drivers. i prefer dna drivers though, they really kicked it up a notch on those an u do get a higher score wit those drivers.

i echo that, i have a mobility 9700 in my laptop, and once i installed the omega drivers, my performance increased drastically, most notably in tiger woods 2004 and 2005 where the highest settings render the grass in stunning realism. i was also having a problem with crashing on the catalyst 4.8 and 4.9 drivers when agp acceleration was enabled. so now i've got much more stability and a big boost in performance.

I had the 4.7 catalyst omegas and when I updated to the 4.8 omegas I saw a 200pt increase in my score. Now I've lost 150pt. with the 4.9's.

I was using the latest and greatest drivers from ATI and was getting good performance before installing Omega drivers. After following COMPLETE uninstallion of all ATI drivers and tools. I installed OMEGA drivers. Initially I automatically felt a slower performance. I was disappointed at first. I read over the information on the Omega site to insure I followed install instructions. I did. After reinstalling the latest DIRECT X again and over clocking my 9800 Radeon just a bit thru the interface, cleaning up files, registry and doing a defrag. I can say they are working very good and i have noticed a slight increase in FPS and textures at the same time. BUT I am still debating if it was worth all the work I had to go thru. System info:
