TotalSize 3.42 is now available for download. TotalSize is the Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer add-in that provides information about folders size (as well as files size) on your hard drive and files size on internet. Now you can replace your old Size column in detailed view with new that will show files and folders sizes. Also you can fast switch view mode using TotalSize Manager or TotalSize Toolbar. And at last, now you can always check files sizes on web pages before downloading.

Currently SCi has released no details of what it's planning to do with Highlander, but creative director Patrick O'Luanaigh weighed in with his thoughts on the franchise, which the company clearly reckons has a lot of potential. You can see his point, too - it is, after all, a game about scary men with big swords hacking each other up.

"There are so many great opportunities with such a rich licence as the Highlander franchise," O'Luanaigh commented. "We will be working closely with Peter Davis and Bill Panzer to develop the Highlander universe further. The concept is ideal for a game."

It's not yet clear whether there will "be only one" Highlander game, but there will be only one 'be only one' gag in this item. Except those two. Ignore 'em. And expect to hear more about Highlander soon.

Tried it... seemed to be a bit buggy. Was just showing blank for some folders/files.

It might just be taking some time to calculate... How long did you wait? Because if you were to right-click on a folder with a large amount of data in it, Windows takes a while to count all the way up to what the size really is...

I don't know though; I've never used it

Fubarshibby is right. TotalSize need some time for getting folder sizes.
All calculations are done in asynchronous mode so you can see folder name before folder size (while folder size field is empty).

When you don’t need these calculations you can use “TotalSize Manager tray icon” or “TotalSize Toolbar” for switching to default view (files only).

I've used it, it works and was very useful, especially when managing big folders filled with tv, movies, mp3 in limited drive space.

But then it expired.

You can use RegNow or Share-It services to fix it

I've been using TreeSize Professional for this task, never did i think it would work in internet explorer. It took 3 minuets for TSP to calculate all the file sizes for folders on my harddrive, how do i know this won't add lag to explorer?

Alright, its pretty fast, but not fast enough. I concluded on setting it to "folders only" and putting it beside the regular size column.

TotalSize uses asynchronous mode for folder size calculations. So you can change current folder before all sizes will be calculated.
There is only one exception – when you use sorting by size (by TotalSize column). In this case Explorer will always wait until all sizes are calculated.

By the way, this is shareware - you can try it for free.

so far i could only find a free alternative for the "check files sizes on web pages before downloading" feature
here:

but it's missing some cool features ... (such as tooltip mode)

i found a free alternative for the folder size column
sure it lacks options... but it's free and open source:

I'm sure you like user-nonfriendly interface in this alternative.
If you want to change settings you will need a configuration utility called "Microsoft Visual C++" as well as you must know C/C++ to set new settings ...

it could have been nice if it had an interface but i don't really need more than that simple DLL
i liked the idea behind your program but it does things that are too small to pay for IMO
i am happy with those alternatives (and i am pleased i found them )

before i found that second program i sent this request to nirsoft.net, i emailed him again that i found what i wanted but he might still find it a good idea, he liked my last idea

This is normal - in other words "someone likes cars, someone likes bicycle" You don't need comfort and you satisfied with small alternative (without GUI, settings, some features like "Fast switch" for optimal perfomance etc).

This is your choise
