StealthDisk uses virtual disk technology to easily and securely store all your important files and documents. Using industry-leading encryption algorithms, StealthDisk creates an encrypted virtual disk that encrypts and decrypts all data on-the-fly as you work. When you are done, simply dismount the StealthDisk volume and all your important files and documents will be instantly hidden and encrypted. There is no need to encrypt each and every file or each and every every folder like other file encryption applications.

  • Hides all Images, Videos and Documents.
  • Easy to use, just like using your regular Hard Disk.
  • On-The-Fly Encryption for Instant File Hiding.
  • Supports AES with 128-bit and 256-bit key lengths.
  • Supports Blowfish with 128-bit and 448-bit key lengths.
  • Further increase your security by using an External Header Block (encrypted) to separate key information and ciphertext.
  • Unlimited volume size. No 20MB or similar limits like other products. You can create volumes as large as your Operating System allows.
  • No mount limits. Mount as many volumes as you have available drive letters. Other products have limits of 1 or maybe 4 concurrently mounted volumes.
  • Supports mounting volumes over a Local Area Network.
  • Supports mounting volumes as Read Only.
  • Supports Auto Dismounting of idle drives.

is this something safe to use? what kind of encryption does it use? and what happens if i forget my key?

Safe or not is relative to your threat model. Even with the highest security, if you use a 1 character password, then that would not be safe. As for type of encryption... StealthDisk uses symmetric encryption using AES and Blowfish, up to 448-bits. If you forget your key (password), then there is really nothing you can do. If there was, then it wouldn't really be secure would it?
