- Well the title isn't finalized yet.. I still would like them to keep the element/animal theme though.. But there aren't that many good name combinations out there though.. Names like FluidBeaver and EarthMonkey aren't as catchy as Firefox and Thunderbird..

They also wish the stuff to actually exist.
Maybe it isn't well-known, but Sunbird is a real animal:

That narrows things down even further.

- The screenshot link is actually screenshots of the older Mozilla calendar.
For screenshots of Sunbird go here:

- Here we go, now thats more like it. I was just about to comment that they need someone to do the graphics for them since it looked like something made -94.
If this project ends up as good as Firefox I'll be there for sure!

- I'm glad to see them making it look prettier and prettier with each release but I hope someday the graphics, at least, will resemble iCal's or something

- For me personally, I still find it rather ugly. The toolbars and stuff are okay but the actual calendar area and the date picker is ugly. The color themes don't match the rest of the system. It's just like loading up a webpage. Why didn't they use XUL to create the content areas as well so it inherits from the system skin?

- I love Sunbird... been using it for months now!

- Sunbird is still quite un-usable at this moment.
It always freezes when I try to print a weekly view of my schedule.
Furthermore, it does not seem to save as iCal format. I am hoping one day I can use Sunbird with my iPod calendar.

- I'd say, as far as Personal Information Managers go, Digita's "Organiser V2" (for Amiga) is the definitive reference that all other PIMs should look at. That, and Apple's iCal, of course. Imagine an Organiser V2 clone with iCal compatible publishing functions, now that'd be so sweet. And Hotsync, of course.
Oh and FYI, Digita's Organiser for Windows sucks.

- If it becomes as good as Digita Organiser V2, count me in! Although at the moment I can't really see anything coming remotely close to the functionality and ease of use that Organiser V2 provided. Too bad it was Amiga-only and the PC port (which was only V1) sucked.

In addition, by focusing solely on standalone calendar, we believe we can make some dents in the overall footprint and performance of the calendar application by removing components and chrome we don't need. At the moment Sunbird is in an experimental stage. Although it is quite stable, we recommend it for testing purposes only.

"Natural challenges with finalizing all the key features and localization issues across worldwide territories have led to the difficult choice of pushing back the release date," SCEA said in a statement, "in order to ensure that Gran Turismo 4 lives up to the exacting standards of the 36 million-plus fans worldwide that have purchased previous versions."
The delay leaves egg on the face of Sony, who only last week held a high profile party in Tokyo to celebrate the "completion" of the game, and which previously removed the much-vaunted online functionality from the title in order to ensure that it came out in time for Christmas.
There's some speculation that this fresh delay - which may also have a knock-on impact on the launch date of the European version, which had already been delayed into Q1 2005 - will give the firm time to reintegrate the online component, but Sony has so far not commented on this possibility, and is still officially planning to launch a separate online-enabled Gran Turismo product later next year.
