Download: Maxthon v1.3.1 Build 20 | 4.2MB (Freeware)
News source: Maxthon Homepage
Changelog:
To start out, we visit Avvenu's homepage in order to download the application. For a remote file sharing application, the file is fairly small (3 mb). In order to run this application, you will need a broadband connection.
After downloading and installing the program, Avvenu will ask you to sign up or log in to use their service. For first time users, you'll click the New Subscribers link. This requires the usual information when setting up an account online. Be sure to remember to use the promotional code "AvvenuBeta", minus the quotes, in order to complete registration.
After you create an account, it is time to setup the host computer. This will be the machine from which you will access files. Your start location is the folder you wish to have access to when using the program. I chose My Documents, but you can choose whatever you wish.
Setup is complete! To access the remote machine, simply visit Avvenu's homepage and log in. Once logged in, you'll see a screen similar to the above picture.
One of the neat features with Avvenu is the ability to enable phone uploads, which can allow you to upload pictures from your camera phone.
Pros: Easy to use, works with most browser enabled devices, ability to track what was downloaded.
Cons: Currently does not work with Mac
Thoughts: I have been using Avvenu for a week now, and though it is still in beta, I have yet to find a single bug. Very easy to work with, and does not require opening any extra ports. Sometimes the system is a bit slow to log you in, but I think that is dependant on the load of the connection you are accessing.
I suggest this program to any person who needs access to their files, whether they be at work or on vacation. As long as you have broadband access, it is a piece of cake!

Anyway, I had a pretty easy time switching to Maxthon. It has a lot of the same features and even some new ones, all in one nice package. Downloading the update now
Altho FF has some neat features I continue using Maxthon till FF gets a major update or till IE7?
I just think the statusbar is to small.
Just got a new set up.I'm running 3 browsers--I.E.6---Mozilla---Maxthon.
Mozilla is good but Maxthon appears to be better.I had problems on my
former set up with F.F.& had to uninstall it.
Maxthon is now my default browser and will be til the next update.
Best regards
