The MSN Search Toolbar works in conjunction with MSN Search. It’s free, easy to use, and has many useful features, including:

  • Pop-up Guard Keep annoying pop-up windows from appearing while you browse the Web.
  • Search the web from any page.
  • Automatic Form Fill manages personal information and passwords
  • Highlight Viewer Quickly locate your search words in the search results.
  • Customizable Make the MSN Toolbar your own by selecting Pop-up Guard settings, icon size, and more.

Windows Desktop Search lets you find just what you're after on your PC, including:

  • Speed Instantly find e-mail messages, documents, photos, and music on your PC.
  • Convenience Search from toolbars integrated with your favorite applications.
  • Better results Easily preview, filter and work with Desktop Search results.

I'm not about to install another desktop search and toolbar just to get tabbed browsing for a browser I, and many others here, don't use.

Just wait a few months for IE7.

I wouldn't do it for the toolbar but the desktop search is spot on and if you have network drives you want to index MSN is a no-brainer over Google Desktop search. Though I would recommend using the google toolbar its got some neat features.

I'm psyched, since i'm an IE user. Now IE has something it's needed for a long, long time. Run IE in non-admin mode, lock it down a little and you're in business !

Tabbed browsing IS in this release. Using it right now. A bit of a strange implementation as the whole IE window redraws every time you change a tab and the IE entry on the taskbar disappears and then reappears with the new page title that is being displayed on that tab. Wouldn't exactly go out and grab this release just because of the tabbed browsing but isn't half bad.

does anyone see a beta tag for this anywhere? On my box at home it would not install on top of the old version. I had to uninstall and setup my options and index again. On my laptop it installed fine. RCCHULUOTA is right. It just doesn't seem as tight as Firefox tabs.
    #10.2 ev0| on 08 Jun 2005 - 14:54
I had the same issue. I think if you installed ifilters you have to reset it all up.
    #10.3 RCCHULUOTA on 08 Jun 2005 - 15:13
Hodgear, I agree. It doesn't seem half as tight as Firefox. At this stage, score 1 for Firefox. Guess we'll have to wait to see what IE7 / Longhorn holds... but I won't hold my breath...
    #10.4 riceboy on 09 Jun 2005 - 03:14
Decided not to use the tab feature...yeah its not as tight as firefox or opera...we'll have to wait and see with IE 7.
    #11 coolmob on 08 Jun 2005 - 14:00

The download you requested is unavailable. If you continue to see this message when trying to access this download, you might try the "Search for a Download" area on the Download Center home page.

Three VERY annoying things and one bug:
    1. Every time I start my IE maximized, now even after I click on "restore" tab it's still maximized and I have to resize it manually every time.
    2. I can't click Ctrl+Tab to get to the Address bar.
    3. Every time I open a new tab or switch tabs, my IE and task bar flicker.

Bug: some times when I had it open, when my IE was maximized it started about 1 inch below the top of the screen, till about 1 inch below my task bar. That is very annoying and can be fixed only by closing and re-opening my IE.

Note: all those 4 problems I discovered in about 10 minutes of using it, so it's really not done so well in my opinion.

Because of those problems I disabled it

SUPERAntiSpyware is a great product, all the industry experts agree. I thought you all might like to know you can get 20% off the PRO version - SUPERAntiSpyware. Not seen this offer anywhere else. Dave.
