A shiny new version of Messenger:Mate for AOL Instant Messenger is now available. This new version brings numerous improvements to existing features along with the addition of new ones. Amongst the improvements you'll find enhanced logging, theme and Buddy aliasing options while the new feature set boasts Exploit blocking, Buddy font overriding and profile logging as appetisers.

Due to the recent spate of viruses spreading through AIM and the increase of attacks on AIM users through the use of known exploits, included in 1.3.0 are two new features to address these issues; Exploit blocking and a warning when clicking on links that lead to potentially dangerous file types that can harm or compromise your PC if viewed and/or executed.

Changes in Messenger:Mate for AIM 1.3.0:
- Added ability to Mute AIM
- Added ability to specify a default smiley set
- Added option to override your Buddy's font
- Added numerous options for Chat Rooms
- Added option to block Exploits
- Added option to warn about potentially dangerous links
- Added ability to set Hyperlink colors
- Added options to log Buddy Profiles
- Added password option to Messenger:Mate Profiles

Yes, it's very homosexual of a man to put his hard work and efforts into something and then request a small fee for others to use it. This is the same terrible person who created Aimutation, made it freeware, then made it open source so others could take over the project. What a ******* he is.

That said, I paid my $5 and find it worth every cent. I'm not cheap and I am more than willing to pay for something I use every day.

On a closing note, are you like 15 years old? Seriously, what mature person gripes about $5 or calls anything "ghey"?

I do agree, I guess the small price tag helps balance the issue a bit.

He said there are plently of better free alternatives. I'm simply asking for what they are since I know he's wrong. As for being so defensive, someone has to balance out the "omg, it costs money, it sucks" trolls.
