The Beta Period is over, and version 1.0 has been released. Here are just some of the features that are new to the software, added from Beta Tester Feedback:
  • Toolkit Administrators can now easily view the status of Windows Disk Protection
  • It is no longer necessary to write scripts to automate the anti-virus update process when Windows Disk Protection is enabled
  • Several new restrictions have been added to the User Restrictions tool, and some restrictions have been moved within the tool
  • Customers with Active Directory domains can apply the Toolkit’s user restrictions to domain accounts with a Group Policy template
  • Many international issues have been resolved, to ensure that the Toolkit operates properly on non-English versions of Windows XP
  • The graphical user interface (GUI) was improved based on usability feedback
  • The “Windows Restrictions” tool was renamed “User Restrictions”
  • The “User Profile” tool was renamed “Profile Manager”

New Features
-Stats compare - view the extended stats details for any other player in your BFHQ simply by double-clicking on their name on the leader board or using the new search feature!
-Server Favorites and History - find your favorite servers that much easier. No more searching for them through the main server list!
-Nickname Prefix - Add and change your clan tag to your account name at will. No more creating alternate account names to cover the changes in your competitive lifestyle!
-Supply Drop Icons - Supply drops now appear on the main map and within the 3D Map. Find that elusive supply drop much, much quicker!
-Points for Destroying Command Objects - players now receive points for destroying the commander's toys. Special Forces players rejoice!
-Server Reserved Slots - Server Operators can now set aside slots for their admins to join a full server at any time!
-Vehicle Passengers - the names of players in a vehicle with you are now displayed when you enter or change seats.
-Countermeasures - a reload bar has been added for vehicle countermeasures. You'll always know now when you can set off that next flare!

Tweaks
-Point Farming changes - DICE has implemented functionality that makes it significantly harder to point farm on Ranked Servers.
-Mod Support - Mods now work properly with the Dedicated Server! Additionally, the game will automatically switch mods when joining a server that is running a mod you have installed but do not have activated.
-Map tweaks - Spawn menu map and Commander maps now scale based on the size of the level being played (16, 32 or 64 players). Mini-map also scales automatically based on the vehicle type you are using (manual changes to zoom levels are remembered as well).
-Commander scoring - No more TKs from Artillery!
-Vehicle tweaks - No more accidental kills from bumping a friend with your tank (try to avoid hitting him at speed though) and no more struggling uphill in an APC. Also no more improper TK allocation from vehicle explosions.
-Auto Team Balance tweaks - Commanders and Squad Leaders now immune to team switch.
-Anti-Air Missiles - These are now much more effective against fast-movers.

NTFS Permissions do exactly the same thing and don't require another tool to get working.

^^^ So I guess you can safely deduce the tool is more useful to people not comfortable editing the NTFS security....

In "User Restrictions" you cannot choose a user, thus cannot complete any of the restrictions. Uninstalled.

You can choose a user but the user has to be a limited account and not have admin privilages. Whats the point of restricting if they have access to everything anyways. This thing is perfect for the cyber cafe im running.

The account I'm trying to select does not have admin privilidges...its a member of the Users group, not Power-users or anything more. The name of the account im trying to setup is there, its just not clickable

Just use Windows' policy editor. This tool seems to be a more user-friendly GUI for that.

Why not use deepfreeze instead of disk protection?
with deep freeze you do not have to re partition the harddrive.

we also use win u wich does a better job at rights and protections then windows itself.

win u + deepfreeze + firewall equals good protection.

This is what i run at my job (i am a network admin at a public library)

Is it possible to achieve all the goals that this Toolkit does without the using the Toolkit and no Active Directory? How?

Because when I try I cannot set this for each user but for the all users on the System
