Thanks to Herby for posting this in the BPN.

One of my favorite applications has been updated today. Driver Cleaner Professional Edition is a great piece of software for removing pesky traces left over from your drivers. This is particularly useful when changing card brands, attempting to fix failed installs, or general driver troubleshooting.

Added:
  • 3Dlabs Wildcat 4 cleaning file
  • 3Dlabs Wildcat REALIZM cleaning file
  • 3Dlabs Wildcat VP cleaning file
  • ATI TV Wonder cleaning file
  • VIA Envy Audio cleaning file
  • VIA HD Audio cleaning file
  • VIA Vinyl Audio cleaning file
  • Albanian language file
Additional improvements to other cleaning routines have been added. See the full changelog for these improvements.

finally! I install motorola drivers, then replaced them with some other "tweaked" drivers so I can mess around with the phone.

Now If I try and install the old drivers, it will automatically install tweak drivers w/o my permission.

What is this all about, is this like CCleaner or similar? If yes how does it compare?

It's nothing like CCleaner.

Driver uninstallation programs often remove every related file, registry settings properly. This program is for cleaning what those driver uninstallation programs leave behind.

Cab Cleaner is a part of Driver Cleaner, which cleans the cab files. After installing from a service pack windows overwrites driver files with older files from the service pack cab's. Cab Cleaner removes the ATI and nVidia files from the cab.

Why get rid of the Live Update feature? That sucks... I always checked it out before doing a clean.

This is a sweet program....unless you accidentally choose to clean ATI IGP/RAID...and end up nuking your OS permanently

Did that once but never again!
