Steven Bink wrote to inform us that the Internet Explorer team have plans to released a couple more versions of IE7 Beta 2.

" Micrsoft will release Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 also for Windows Server 2003 SP1/R2 and for the 64bit editions of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 SP1/R2.

Beta 2 is currently scheduled for April of this year."

We'll bring you more information closer to the time. The IE7 beta for Windows XP users is out now, and features a number of improvements over the previous release.

Finally, a x64 version.

I installed the 32bit standalone on XP x64 and now my IE6 is seriously messed.

I tried removing the registry key that caused problems when beta 1 was released but no luck

That leaves just one more platform to release for, Vista. Hopefully they'll make a download available to update at least the latest build with IE7 Beta 2, but I have a feeling we'll just have to wait for the next CTP.

Will anything be changed in the server 2003 version?
because you can hack the installer to install on server 2003 and it runs fine.

How do you do it?

Why are all the Neowin posts claiming that the current release for XP is "Beta 2" when it certainly is not.

It's a "Beta 2 Preview" (basically a CTP) - it is NOT beta 2.

Vista always has the latest version of IE7... You can't update an older build of Vista with an IE beta made for XP/Server 03

I don't know about the server or 64 bit versions, but the Beta 2 Preview of IE 7 is great. The reviews have disregarded the improved speed and clearer font rendering. Currently, it's the best internet experience around.

who installs an Internet explorer beta (preview) on a server OS?

For example someone who use it as a developer platform.
