Not THAT official, but they were right with the X-Fi drivers coming out.
hello, it was months ago!
"This download is a beta driver providing Microsoft® Windows® Vista 32-bit and 64-bit Beta 2 Build 5384 and Build 5456 support for Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi®."
We would like to update all Sound Blaster X-Fi users that are experiencing the popping/crackling issues with the very latest news on this issue.
We have been working extensively with a large number of systems and the vendors of those systems to diagnose and find remedies for reported symptoms of audio crackling and distortion, particularly during game playing. bla bla bla
the new driver does not even fix these issues, and if you have the original drivers, they will tell you through auto update, you don't need the lastet fix, cause as your reporting its to fix problems in vista... wow great eh, a driver for a beta os. Fortunetly for me, i only bought the xfi music edtion and i have had no problems with noise, unless you get a cell phone in the room. And there are only i think 2 games that take advantage of the top of the line card xfi fatality with memory.
