If you're going to push somebody's software, you might at least explain what it is or – more importantly – what it does, rather that simply reprint the company's blurb, which explains squat.

What is it? Why does anybody need it? Has anyone verified that it doesn't contain spyware or adware?

It's beginning to appear that this Mihai Asmanow is simply indiscriminately combing the web and publishing as many links to software as he can without regard for the potential consequences to Neowin's users – especially newbies that are looking to be steered in the right direction.

Of course I hope I'm wrong: that Mihai is in fact diligently verifiying that all the software he's listing is – at the very least – safe.

You are doing this, right?

1. This was stated already in the article. About Vista Firewall Control: Allows you to control personal information leakage via controlling application network traffic. Also if you are going to install it you will see a detailed help file with all the info you need.

2. Yes, it has been already checked for spyware/adware etc...like all the software that i TRY and post here, it's very easy to see that just doing a fast search in the NEOWIN software section and looking at the software screenshots, 99% of the software is downloaded, installed in my machine, tested & checked for any type of spyware/adware so if something is bad, simply doesn't appear here.

3. I'm not pushing anybody software and i don't post as many links i can, i simply do what is called ''SOFTWARE UPDATES''.

and I'm happy doing what I'm doing

Hey, don't get your neck bowed! I wasn't trying to be insulting, but was simply asking what I thought were some legitimate questions.

Anyway, you answered my questions, and I appreciate it. It's a good thing to explicitly state for your users that you're not just passing on software links indiscriminately.
