Paint.NET is image and photo manipulation software designed to be used on computers that run Windows. It supports layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool for photo and image editing.

Changes:

* New: New default color palette (you may have to use "Reset to default palette" to see it)
* Finished: Help file is now up-to-date for 3.0.

* Finished: UI translations for Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portugese, and Spanish. Note: Help file is still English-only.
* Fixed: Status bar was not displaying help text for tools on first click
* Fixed: "Rotate Image" was hanging
* Fixed: Crash in installer when /createMsi was used
* Fixed: "ScratchSurface already borrowed..." crash fixed in several places
* Fixed: Spacebar was not activating command link buttons
* Fixed: Zoom dropdown was not always working when set to "100%" in some specific cases

Yeah this is a hell of a software. Been using it for a while now and it's a breeze to use. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't need all the fancy things of a Photoshop or Paintshop and can't ofcourse afford those softwares.

I would use it more often if only Paint .NET had a Channel Mixer (I use it for Infrared photos) - I've looked through forum and plugins and I couldn't find it

Please stop linking directly to the download file! That's why the main page and download page say "Please do not link directly to this file."
