really... whats the point in "another" cd burning program when nero is by far the standard? ... as pretty much everyone uses nero... although me personally i like nero 6 better than nero 7

so in other words if this cd burning program aint "light" on system resources/full featured, then it's not even worth attempting to use.

Nero is becoming the Norton of burning software. It's either IMG Burn or Ashampoo for me.

you got a good point about the "nero is becoming the norton of burning software" ... thats why i just stick with nero6 since it does everything i need it to do at a reasonable file size (not to much bloat) ... although down the road once hd-dvd/blu-ray come as the standard (if they ever do lol) then obviously nero 6 wont cut it then and ill be forced to switch to something else.

@ThaCrip

Not everyone uses Nero (anymore) after Nero has gone to 200 MB, lot of us switched to Ashampoo , Sateira or Prassi Ones. What's the point in using Linux instead of Windows, or NOD32 instead of Kaspersky, or Foobar instead of Winamp ? And btw you can read some opinions here:

your probably right... thats why im still using Nero6 (screw 7 cause as you said 200MB for a burning program is rediculous) ... although like i said above once dvd's are obsolete then obviously ill be forced to switch to another burning program... but until then ill probably stick with nero6.

also.. do those other burning programs you mentioned work reliably? (like in terms of burning quality where everything just "works" like bootable cd's etc etc i think you get what im saying)

on a side note though i think Windows is just far better than linux just cause of it's easy of use and it has far more software for it since it's basically "the standard" of pc's... linux aint bad but it's to technical/complicated.

also.. NOD32 is great AV software and thats what i use.... as for foobar or winamp i like " winamp "lite" " since it's got a good equalizer/nice sound to it and just a all around solid interface although it does seem as the years go by even the light version aint as lite as it once was, although i still use it as my MP3 player of choice since it still loads up pretty much instantly... foobar is lite on resources etc (which is nice) but it's just got a dull interface and it dont seem to have as much options as winamp does.

p.s. thanks for those links as im going to read em and see what people are saying about them... i really wish one of those burning programs would do everything nero does and then some and reliably cause if they do i might say the hell with nero

Ashampoo should be the standard by which all other burning software is judged. Nero went from being the best to be as bad if not worse than Roxio Easy CD. Haven't tried Sateira but it looks good.

as for nero being as bad or worse then "Roxio Easy CD" , i have to strongly disagree with you there especially if your talking about Nero6..... although at the rate Nero is going it's getting more and more bloated and from nero6 which was still reasonably sized to nero7 which is WAY to big for a burning program... at that rate nero is dead.

I like using ImgBurn and Burn-At-Once. Those two take care of everything I need. If I want to burn some files to CD, WinXP does a good job there.
