okay, who actually uses google toolbar here and why?

I use it to replace the existing search; I don't have the toolbar enabled. That way search results can open in a new tab instead of in the existing one. If the default box can do that I never found the setting.

Actually, you don't even need TabMix. Just type about:config in the address bar. Then search for the follow setting:

browser.search.openintab

Change the value to True and you're good to go. No extensions needed!

i use it to search the web, and for images i just hit the image button... and it has a button for google earth and gmail...

and i didn't have to change anything around...

nice and easy...

Ya Know, instead of a big bloated addon you can just add search plugins for all of your wants and needs
Google Images, Gmail and Google Earth - http://mycroft.mozdev.org/ They're All There! Just Search!
Or you could just make bookmarks in the "Built in" "No Install Necessary" Bookmark toolbar to Google Images, Gmail and Google Earth

This version, 3.0, allows you to use all the features of the Google toolbar while looking identical to the standard FireFox search box -- so no bloating.
Still, the toolbar provides tons of features that I find quite useful and would require about a dozen addons to replicate.

So, bloated? Not at all. I think its a very nice addition to FireFox.

What are you're favorite features of the new Google toolbar?
for example what are the features that could replicated by multiple other extensions?

I use Google Bookmarks, the built-in text box spellcheck, multiple searches, and GMail button. OK, all of these can be created from several addons/extensions, but why have several when I can have one?

It's about ease of use and simplicity. And I use it on my IE at work where I cannot have Firefox.

Quiet Easily Done.
