i used to love this but they made it unusable with all the bloat which is a shame because it was once lovely to use.

What do you mean unusable with all the bloat? I've used PSP since version 5, and it has done nothing but improve over time. I'm currently using this version, and have no problems or "bloat" whatsoever.

Does anyone else use this? Does anyone else see it gobbling away at the CPU even when there are no images open?

That typo in the screenshot will haunt you for the rest of your life -- you can't delete it now

Is this supposed to be Paint Shop Pro X's successor? Guess they're all into photo editing now.

Cool. Updating. Better than Photoshop for quick image creation/editing.

That made me laugh. Nothing that Corel touches is better than anything.

Actually, I agree with Jimbo. I prefer Paint Shop Pro to Photoshop a large majority of the time. It has the best balance of features/interface of any graphics program I've used. Photoshop is powerful, but a pain in the neck to get anything simple done with (in comparison). I only pull out photoshop for the few things that only it can do.

Honestly, Corel has only added new features and capabilities to Paint Shop Pro (translated: made it better) since they bought it from Jasc. I do not like anything else from Corel (in fact, I strongly dislike the rest of their products), but they haven't managed to screw up Paint Shop Pro. If you haven't tried it due to disliking Corel as a company, you're really missing out.
