I don't know about you guys, but I think it's totally unessescary for Nero to incorporate all this Scout, VoIP, Media Center stuff etc (you get the point) Nero for me, is what it is... just a burning and imaging app.

It does my head in customising my installs these days with all the endless rubbish i've completely no need for.

[Rant over]

Ahead Nero: How to screw up a great product with bloat and extra apps people never use.

Exactly, it's like the applications they put out aren't market leaders... They've got half assed media players/viewers and stuff, that no one in their right mind would use so what's the point? If you're not going to do something properly, why bother? they might as well focus all their efforts in making sure they're the best burning app out there rather than split resources and waste time with some of the tosh they serve up

That's why people use the custom installs like Nero Micro and the like.

That's kind of the point of Nero Lite ... To be rid of the whole "all-in-one" mentality :/

Can this be installed on Vista without having to install DirectX 9, which the last version of Nero forced you to do?
#4.1 J400uk on 03 Apr 2007 - 22:41
Its still crap, cant install w.o. DX9c. I am sticking with nero lite and dameon tools for the time being.

The Nice thing is that you can just install the apps you want and leave all the other crap uninstalled.

Nero Burning ROM
Nero Cover Designer
Nero Tool Kit

Same here. These are the only 3 things I ever install.

Nero Burning ROM - Duh...
Nero Cover Designer - I don't use to often, but it is handy when i wanna make backup discs i plan on keeping for a wile.
Nero Tool Kit - Great for finding out who REALLY made the disc media your using.

i use to love nero before they started adding all the useless JUNK

The bloatware, with a bit of time spent...and a command line to remove Scout, is a bit annoying...but doable.

The broken promise that FULL VERSION updates would end with version 7 have gone past ridiculous. And yet they wonder why it takes people so long to get an update.

They claim to have a DVR app in this, but I could find no docs on the website, like a tuner-compatibility list.
