Foxit Reader 2.0 is a free and very small PDF document viewer and printer. It opens up very quickly but does not lack a solid feature list. Version 2.0 includes interactive form filler, multi-language UI support, on-demand download of add-on, self upgrade, Javascript support, improved printing speed and a more streamlined UI. Foxit Reader 2.0 supports Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP/2003.

Features:
  • Incredibly small: The download size of Foxit Reader is only 1.5 M which is a fraction of Acrobat Reader 20 M size
  • Breezing-fast: When you run Foxit Reader, it launches instantly without any delay. You are not forced to view an annoying splash window displaying company logo, author names, etc.
  • Annotation tool: Have you ever wished to annotate (or comment on) a PDF document when you are reading it? Foxit Reader 2.0 allows you to draw graphics, highlight text, type text and make notes on a PDF document and then print out or save the annotated document.
  • Text converter: You may convert the whole PDF document into a simple text file.
  • High security and privacy: Foxit Reader highly respects the security and privacy of users and will never connect to Internet without users' permission. While other PDF Reader often silently connects to the Internet in the background. Foxit PDF Reader does not contain any spyware or adware.

I am glad to see companies put out quality software that really competes with the "standard" software. Good luck to them!

anyone got the script or file that takes away the advert from this? Thanks
#4.1 shadower on 07 Apr 2007 - 00:54
You don't need a script or file; go to the View menu and untick 'Advertisement'. Close Foxit and re-open it.

You'll need to repeat this process five or six times - once for each advertisement in the application.

Seriously, when posting news about a minor build increase, a changelog should be mandatory.

Why don't you find it and post it?

This piece of Software I don't understand. I know the PDF Reader is free, but is the printer/converter free because I visited the website and they had it as shareware?

Only the reader is free.

It's the same as if you have to pay fro Adobe Acrobat to make PDF files but of course you can use PDFCreator to make PDF files.

Foxit is gaining fame for it's small file size and fast file viewing Foxit FTW

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I have deployed FoxIT on all 100 client pc's at work and removed the bloated AAR. My users do not mind the "stamp" when annotating pdf's. They love the speed of Foxit and the annotation tools. One day I'll convince the boss to spring for the paid versions.

BTW we use CutePDF and Office 2007 PDF add-on to create pdf's
