- i have always found it surprising that microsoft doesn't supply an MD5 or CRC checksum for these huge downloads..

Well in that case its necessary. But it must suck. If I need to loop up something, I usually google it. -

- Nah, it doesn't suck. The lookup of info (majority of the time) is faster than trying to do an online search for it. I write software for a living (and digital photography part time) and I don't connect a mission critical machine to any type of network. That's how the code for Win2000 and HalfLife (among others) were taken.

- Free MSVC Express, Free MSDN. Pretty much enough for most personalsmaller projects, It's a good thing MS did.

- According to the home page one is supposed to rename the .img file to .iso. Does anybody know what the reason they don't supply it as an .iso file is?
