Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) enables information technology administrators to deploy the latest Microsoft product updates to computers running the Windows operating system. By using WSUS, administrators can fully manage the distribution of updates that are released through Microsoft Update to computers in their network. Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) 3.0 delivers new features including an MMC-based user interface with advanced filtering and reporting, improved performance and operational reliability, flexible deployment options to improve branch office support, and more content access through the Microsoft Update Catalog site.

System requirements for WSUS 3.0 server installation
  • WSUS 3.0 server is supported on Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server "Longhorn"
  • Windows 2000 Server is not supported for WSUS 3.0 servers
  • WSUS 3.0 is not supported on servers running Terminal Services

Didn't get to test the RC's. Luckly now I don't have to. Will try updating the server at work to see whats new. The MMC stuff appeals to me.

Used the last beta and the RC. This is a major upgrade to WSUS, even more than 2.0 was to 1.0. Good going MS you've made life easier for a lot of admins out there.
