Nvidia has released another set of official beta drivers specifically for the Geforce 8 series. They are available in both 32bit and 64bit flavours. This is not a WHQL release, so Windows will prompt you about these drivers not being digitally signed. International downloads are available.

Release Notes
  • Add support for GeForce 8800 Ultra.
  • Increased performance in 3D applications.
  • Numerous game and application compatibility fixes.
  • Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0c and OpenGL® 2.1 support.
  • Please read the release notes for more information on product support, feature limitations, and known compatibility issues.
This is BETA software!, please use caution when installing it on your system

Nice to see they are releasing constant updates... I personally prefer the newer "Beta" 158.24 Forceware driver (here)...

One's for XP and the other is for Vista. Can't really compare the two

Gives error messages when installing. Thats a big negative.

Are you sure you're seeing an actual error message? Not just the "not digitaly signed" message that you get whenever you try and install packages that aren't WHQL'd?

There seem to still be a lot of issues with using this new driver on the 8800 GTX... :-(
