NVIDIA released another set of official beta drivers for Windows Vista. They are for GeForce 8 line of GPUs, and are available in both 32bit and 64bit flavors. This is not a WHQL release, so Windows will prompt you about these drivers not being digitally signed.

Release Highlights:
  • Improved performance for DirectX 10 version of Company of Heroes
  • Improved 3D performance for single GPU and NVIDIA SLI
  • Numerous game and application compatibility fixes
  • Please refer to the release notes for further information
This is BETA software!, please use caution when installing it on your system

is there an advantage to using these on a 7600 gt? or is it just to say that I have accomplished installing them? I mean the latest drivers for this card work pretty good, so if it ain't broke, I'll fix it if it's better

Thanks,

Mike

No it's not for the accomplishment but sometimes NVIDIA makes many undocumented changes, and those changes sometimes affect older cards, but they don't bother to test it on them since they're beta anyway and just release them for the 8th series.

I'm using it now on my 7800 GS, and so far so good (like 158.18 and 158.43), so nothing really better here, I just like the idea of having the latest driver as long as it doesn't cause any problems

Can anyone confirm if this is a better driver? (I'm using 7600gt)
There's no point in using a latest driver if it degrades the performance and quality

Check out Guru3D thread on these drivers. Word is that these drivers are finally taking advantage of DX10.

Improved performance for DirectX 10 version of Company of Heroes

I thought there wasn't going to be a DirectX 10 patch for Company of Heroes?

I Recently Got Rid Of My NVIDIA GeForce 6800, After They Stopped Issuing New Device Driver Updates For It, I Will Now Be A Loyal ATI Custumer, And Will Never Ever Buy Another NVIDIA Video Card Again, Just FYI.
