NVIDIA® nTune is the ultimate utility for accessing, monitoring, and adjusting your system components, including temperature and voltages with clear, user-friendly control panels. Overclock your system for highest performance or underclock it for near silent operation. All changes are performed within the Microsoft® Windows® interface – enabling full functionality without the need to make changes in the BIOS and reboot your system.

This is a complete, updated release of the NVIDIA nTune. You are not required to install a previous version of this application before installing the latest version. nTune 5.05 adds support for GPU temperature monitoring and overclocking on all motherboards. On nForce motherboards where specific BIOS support is not available, only basic functionality will be available.

Products support for advanced motherboard monitoring features:
  • nForce 220, nForce 220D, nForce 415 and nForce 420D
  • nForce2 and nForce2 400
  • nForce2 Ultra and nForce2 Ultra 400
  • nForce2 400R and nForce2 Ultra 400Gb
  • nForce3 150 and nForce3 PRO 150
  • nForce3 250, nForce3 250Gb and nForce3 PRO 250
  • nForce4 Pro 2200, nForce4 Ultra, and nForce4 SLI
  • nForce 590 SLI, nForce 570 SLI, nForce 570 Ultra, nForce 550

Ridiculous that it won't report voltages on my A8N323-SLI Deluxe...

I use RivaTuner myself, but some people still like Ntune.

how in the heck could it not support the 680 series??????? or is this release to pick up on the older series that weren't supported with nTune in the past??

<edit> at this link http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.47.00.html, the 680 series is supported it just wasn't mentioned in this article.

Does this version actually allow you to overclock in Vista x64?

It will install and run in both XP x64 and Vista x64, but I don't know if you can actualy overclock in those enviroments.

manual overclock : 25%.

nuff said.

Yeah but some people don't know much about overclocking as it is, plus a "small overclock" handled by this app in Windows might be better for those who are new etc.

ive been trying this using vista 32 and my system as detailed below in my spec

before i was running a 10% overclock in the bios, using the automatic "AI Overclock" in my asus bios. This equated to my processor clock speed successfully running at the speed of a 4200 X2. [EVEREST/SANDRA confirmed this]. Other settings crashed my machine due to my memory speed rising over it's limit.

So, i switched off the bios overclock, left all settings at stock and ran the ntune overclock on the 20 min tune. After a freeze and a reboot (which it expects) it appears to have raised my cpu speed higher than the 10% i could do manually, reset the memory timings and raised the PCI-E bus speed 40%. YES, 40%.

I then set the profile to load on startup, however this doesnt work as the ntune service hasn't loaded when the gui attempts to load the profile, so a message pops up saying that the profile failed to load. I've noticed that if you open ntune immediately after starting the pc, the nforce sections of the application are unavailable, presumably as the hardware monitoring service hasnt been loaded yet. To get around this problem, i deleted all the rules for loading the profile and added one which i attached to the mcafee security centre [it's always last to load]. This gives the service time to start and the GUI can now load the profile without problem.

The bottom line is that ntune tuned my machine above and beyond what i could manage myself with the manual settings and there's less likely a chance of totally frying your machine due to mistakenly entering some catastrophic setting by accident via the BIOS.

NTune gets a thumbs up from me. I look forward to a less buggy, more polished version.

NB. does anyone know how to stop it telling me about loading/unloading the profiles? i dont want a msgbox each time.
