Safari has always been the fastest browser on the Mac and now it’s the fastest browser on Windows, loading and drawing web pages up to twice as fast as Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and up to 1.6 times faster than Mozilla Firefox 2.

Why you'll love Safari:

* Blazing Performance2x Faster - Safari is the fastest web browser on any platform.
* Elegant User Interface - Safari’s clean look lets you focus on the web — not your browser.
* Easy Bookmarks - Organize your bookmarks just like you organize music in iTunes.
* Pop-up Blocking - Say goodbye to annoying pop-up ads and pop-under windows.
* Inline Find - Search any text on any website with the integrated Find banner.
* Tabbed Browsing - Open and switch between multiple web pages in a single window.
* SnapBackSnapback - Instantly snap back to search results or the top level of a website.
* Forms AutoFill - Let Safari complete online forms for you, automatically and securely.

* RSSBuilt-in RSS - RSS tells you when new content is added to your favorite sites.

* Resizable Text Fields - Resize text fields on any website: Just grab the corner and drag.
* Private Browsing - Keep your online activities private with a single click.
* Security - Apple engineers designed Safari to be secure from day one.

Changes in Safari 3.0.3 for Windows beta:

* Latest security updates
* Improved stability

Safari instantly crashes when trying to run it on Vista 32bit.

Definitely NOT the fastest browesr around as claimed here. In fact, the slowest of ANY browser I've ever tried.

Basis for those claims? It's been the fastest browser for me on OS X and Windows.

Basis for your claims? The matter of browser speed depends on the computer, on some IE is the fastest, some FF etc. Even if a certain browser is fastest according to you doesn't mean it is fastest for rest of the world.

Exactly

You don't have to go that far to see that it's the slowest browser for most of the people who've tried it. Just look on Neowin in the forums at all the people who've said that. When I tried it, it was the slowest browser on my system as well, but I didn't automatically assume it was like that for everyone else in the world who has it. I'm not one to think soo highly of myself that if something doesn't work right for me, it HAS to be the same with the rest of the world.

It's faster than any other browser because it has 1/5th the features of every other browser out there. Take out 99% of the java script support you need and you got yourself some zippy little code.

Safari is hands down the worst browser I've used on any platform.

Once again Apple attempts to make an ugly bastardization of its own UI for Windows and fails miserably. Seriously, go native. Its better for the software, and its better for the end-user.

It's not a bad browser so far for me. I'm not a great Apple fanatic, but some of the stuff they have produced for Windows is alright for me personally. I'll admit I'm a sucker for a posh gui (skins for firefox, glass effects, whatever) but then I also want to know that the coding is at least half decent. I don't think Apple would let this one go out without some heavy testing, as I'm sure they're well aware of the market they're jumping into.

Still looks ugly as hell with Windows Classic on. You can't minimise via the taskbar and the maximise mode doesn't even fill the entire screen [gaps at the edges] meaning you can quite easily close the window behind Safari. With such basic interface guidelines ignored what makes someone seriously want to change to use this thing on Windows where the browser market is pretty saturated as it is?

Safari's a great app, but it's not for Windows. I have a super-slow mac and Safari is great, but unless it has some drastic change it's not going to be used by anyone except people that are trying to make Windows look like mac.

EDIT: Web Developers will probable use Safari for tests, but that's it!

Fails to render quite a few pages. Very nice font rendering. The UI controls does not have any feedback on hover. Speed is pretty good, especially on extremely heavy pages such as the WoW Armory.
