DAEMON Tools is an advanced application for multiprotection emulation. It is further development of Generic Safedisc emulator and incorporates all its features. This program allows running Backup Copies of SafeDisc (C-Dilla), Securom, Laserlock, CDCOPS, StarForce and Protect CD (and many others) protected games. Also included is a Virtual DVDROM drive (Generic DVD-ROM) enabling you to use your CD images as if they were already burned to CD! DAEMON Tools works under Windows9x/ME/NT/2000/XP with all types of CD/DVDROM drives (IDE/SCSI) and supports nearly any CD protection.

Changelog:
  • Updated SPTD driver to 1.50 to fix some reported issues
  • Changed language files to DAEMON Tools Pro format
  • Fixed minor bugs

Be careful. The only way to install this is to accept their bundled spyware. You can't decline it anymore.

WTF? I just installed it (upgraded actually) and I can still uncheck the bundled search bar (spyware).

I don't know what you are talking about. There's only a "DAEMON Tools Seach Bar" bundled in, wich can be unchecked.

After I installed it, using Ad-Aware 2007 with all latest update, it found only 1 crap on my computer. A stupid cookie from WinCustomize.org!

I don't know of which virtual cd/dvd-drive software you're a fanboy of, but don't crap stuff like this when people can easily see your just a troll.

Try the software first before going on a forum trying to spread BS about it

We also offer Adware-Supported version:
DAEMON Tools Pro Adware version includes mandatory adware.
You can use Adware version as trial. If you do not need/want built-in adware you can buy version without adware - we think this is MORE than fair. So we offer
to all those who cant afford 27$ a version that everyone can use without further
costs. It is up to you to decide - or just stick to Standard-Version of DAEMON Tools

Bold added for emphasis... (Actually, that is in big red letters on the DT home page.)

Who's BS is it then? Croquant obviously took them at their word.. I wouldn't "try something first" that said it had mandatory adware in it either.

yeah this is pretty much THE BEST virtual dvd-rom drive software out there... it just gets straight to the point without having to install all other sorta of unnessesary burning software like alcohol 120 etc etc.

I know it's weird, but if he changed things in the program to make it "Daemon Tools" instead of "DAEMON Tools", and gave it something better than a silly 16-color icon, I might actually consider purchasing this.

any good and free alternative for vista, that its not bundle with spyware or adware like alcohol and daemon tool.
#6 +abulfares on 21 Aug 2007 - 03:21
READ the BOLD again.

The mandatory adware is only attached to the free PRO (and thats for PROFESSIONAL) version. Not this lite version.

Read god damn it. read.

Power ISO is pretty good, but i cant slate Daemon tools as I have never used it. Although I must admit the first reports/rumours of this application having spyware on it put me of.
