How is this compared to utorrent? I've heard that some trackers block utorrent now because of an old bug that's been fixed.

Utorrent has not been banned because of a bug that was fixed; it's because coding has reportedly been added to track your activity - with the results being sent to unknown servers. So I've read....

That's not it. It had a bug that would open up private trackers to the DHT network.

Here's why it was banned on several sites -

µTorrent 1.7 is reported to announce incorrect download amounts to the tracker for torrents where the data is greater than 4 GB in size. If you are using this client, it may be reporting far more download to the tracker than you are actually downloading. (And no, the staff will not correct your stats for you.)

µTorrent 1.7.1 does not respect the 'private torrent' flag in its algorithm for Local Peer Discovery. This makes it unsuitable for use on private trackers. This problem has been corrected in µTorrent 1.7.2.

As far as I know no "code" has been found in the newer versions, and I'm willing to bet it has been very diligently gone over many times. If it was doing anything funny, one of the thousands of user would be making a big stink about it. That said I still use 1.6.1, the last version before Bram and his friends got involved in uTorrent.

How does this compare to uTorrent? I've been looking to dump it since they sold out, but haven't really found a decent alternative.

Give it a shot. It seems to be about the same to me.
