ESET NOD32 Antivirus offers superior, comprehensive protection, the fastest scanning throughput, and the least performance impact of any solution. Keep your important information safe & stay productive with peace of mind. Running separate applications for viruses, hackers, adware, and spyware can slow your PC, be difficult to manage, and provide questionable protection. Beware of large, bloated internet security suites that consume hundreds of megabytes on your PC. These typically exist because vendors have acquired products and 'bundled' them together. In contrast, ESET NOD32 was designed from the core as a single, highly-optimized engine that works as a unified Anti-Threat system to protect against a broad spectrum of malware. Viruses, worms, spyware, and other malicious attacks, which are constantly evolving. ESET NOD32 utilizes patent-pending ThreatSenseŽ Technology to detect tomorrow's threats in real-time, by analyzing code execution for malicious intent - keeping you ahead of the malware-writers.

What's new in ESET NOD32 Antivirus beta 2:

ESET NOD32 Antivirus + Antispyware
This component is in fact an improved version of the award-winning scanning engine of NOD32 Antivirus v2.7. With respect to program's unprecedented scanning speed, the following improvements have been made:

* Improved system of cleaning and deleting infiltrations. The antivirus system now intelligently cleans and deletes infiltrations with no need for user interaction.

* Computer scan can be run in background in order to use only a part of system resources. Thus scanning will not affect the performance of your computer and you will be able to work on it as usual.
* Update optimization, smaller update package size than in version 2.7, more effective management and protection of update files against damage.
* Email protection for users of Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express.

Actually I was having an intermittent problem with the NOD32 2.7 version locking up on Vista 32 bit and this solved it.
So... keep going!

Actually I am glad to hear that.
I was using NOD32 2.7 and it was locking up / crashing when doing a 'Scan and Clean', but it was intermittent.
I have been in contact with support and they said this was an isolated case and *No one* else is having issues running Vista.
If anyone else is having issues running NOD32 2.7 and Vista... be sure and tell them
