No new Linux drivers this time ... also is it just me or has AMD completely taken over the main ATI site now and shifted all the ATI stuff to game.amd.com ... seems like the ATI brand is slowly dying to the AMD one ...

Hm, why is the link in Release "https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/gamesite/catalyst_79_release_notes.html"?
It makes Opera say this: - The server's name "www.ati.com" does not match the certificate's name "a248.e.akamai.net". Somebody may be trying to eavesdrop on you.

Intentional, or is it malware?

edit: Ok, clicking on the Release notes link in http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst...p=xp/radeonx-xp
goes to the same address, but Opera doesnt question the certificate then. I guess its alright.

Stupid ATi i'm getting a

could not load file or assembly 'MOM.implementation'

after install. I had this before on some older catalyst drivers. Had to uninstall and reinstall again. It was something to do with when you cancel the Steam installation when you install thses drivers.

I wish they would test their stupid drivers properly.
#7.1 Eis on 11 Sep 2007 - 04:01
It would be impossible for them to test every single possible computer build in the entire world, which is why they do infact have a support section.

Also, it has nothing to do with the Steam cancellation, as I just did the same thing and I haven't run into any errors.

It's worked fine for a lot of people, so you can't say it's not been tested. If you have an error, I suggest sending it to them and asking for support.

How do you make a new forum?

Same as the 7.8 release , no good for us x1950 AGP users

From the release notes :

Quote -
Caution: Installing the Catalyst software suite 7.8 or 7.9 on a system containing the ATI Radeon™ X1950 AGP series of product may result in either the desktop failing to be drawn properly or the operating system failing to boot. It is recommended to continue using Catalyst 7.7 for this product at this time.

Sort it out AMD
#15.1 Dark Scizor on 11 Sep 2007 - 11:32
I have a X1600 AGP and this one happens most of the time when I log in... Strange thing though, cause it hapens usually right after CCC has loaded...
#16 :No-Frost: on 11 Sep 2007 - 07:23
Mmm how good are this drivers for an Ati Sapphire X800GTO with 256 MB PCI-Express???
#17 Leonardo_3 on 17 Sep 2007 - 11:47
This is serious. Why such indifference towards the AGP (x1950 pro) card owners ? I have to say that my last 4 cards were from ATI, and -well- little problems here and there did not spoil my appreciation of ATI's products. But now, this is just too very bad.

I mean, two driver updates in a row, that render a high-end card useless ?!!? And the ones that I can use (7.7) have many issues with Bioshock (supposedly fixed in the new catalyst sets) ...

C'mon ATI. Act professionally!
