At this rate they better find a way to make the drivers install without a reboot...
#2.1 _MacGyver_ on 21 Sep 2007 - 18:22
From what I can tell, you don't need to reboot, the new drivers are initialised during installation but the installer still asks you if you'd like to reboot.

Yes! I install and neglect the restart notification sometimes.

Correct if I'm wrong but one of the broken promises of Vista was you could update video card drivers, sound card drivers, and windows update without having to restart...
#3.1 Kristian on 21 Sep 2007 - 20:42
I thought the promise was less restarts.. I can't seem to find anything anywhere where it says no restarts... And also, it's only the nvidia driver installation which asks you to restart...

Still missing the classic UI.

****ed as ever...

Some people prefer a simple tool, and rather not be forced to use a bloated UI.

"Some people prefer a simple tool, and rather not be forced to use a bloated UI"

That's me to a T!!
Nvidia is nothing but bloatware anymore. I HATE them!! Never thought they were all they were cracked up to be. Definitely NOT worth the cost, to me.

On the other hand, ATI insists on using this .NET control panel.
#5.3 Croquant on 22 Sep 2007 - 17:51
Oh, get over yourself. Nvidia's 8800 cards beat the crap out of the latest ATI cards on a regular basis, and you know it. Sure, they both use bloaty CPs, but at leat Nvidia's doesn't insist on relying on the ".NET framework." (Or, as like to call it, "I Can't Believe It's Not Java!". Just put up with it.
