Cabos is Gnutella file sharing program based on LimeWire and Acquisition. It is free software, no spyware, no adware. It provides simple interface, multi languages support, and iTunes / iPod integration. What an enjoyable experience it is to use peer-to-peer software without adware or nagware, and to even be able to change preference settings repeated without attempted changes invoking an instant crash. Cabos handles memory extremely well, which is probably why it is so stable, and resume actually works, unlike attempts to resume downloads on LimeWire and Acquisition, which rarely yields results. Cabos Core is written in Java, and GUI is written in REALbasic. Cabos is clean, easy to use, and very fast.

Changelog:
  • Changed spam filtering user interface. Gray out spam contents instead of ignoring the files.
  • Improved locale preferencing. Cabos now uses "ip2country" to guess the host locale. This is good for non-English
  • language users to find their preferred hosts.
  • Smarter search result view. The filename will be short ended and added "..." characters when it is too long to display.
  • Updated Hungarian Localization (thanx! > Application Translator Team Hungary).
  • Updated Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Simplified Chinese Localization.
  • Added Malay, Norwegian, Vietnamese Localization.
  • Supported Windows Vista now.
  • Reduced application code size and memory usage.
  • Fixed some minor bugs.

Sorry this one took so long to post guys, almost a whole week late. This gem hasn't been updated in ages! Too bad I still can't get it working on Vista x64.

That's been happening since the early days of development. AVG is to blame.

The best Gnutella client out there. Fast and quick, and hardly takes up any ram compared to other gnutella and p2p clients out there.

Yeah. This is the best p2p program I've come across. Small and to the point.

Crashes when I open it. It just keeps telling me cabos has stopped responding before it even opens. Using Ultimate x64.

Mine does too, but on Ultimate 32bit.
No entry in any system log. Nuffin, just crash.

What??....are you kidding? ....Cabos has better search results, the best in the "Limewire Forks" category...it finds what you're searching, unlike Limewire, who finds Crap next to search results......
cheers.....

I lauched Limewire Pro and Cabos next to each other. Searched for Timberland.

Cabos= 179 finds
Limewire Pro=250 finds

All mp3's that is.
