New compiler? Not VC++ 2008, I hope?

What's wrong w/ VC++ 2008?
#3.2 th3rEsa on 25 Dec 2007 - 12:57
If they're using VC2008, the "Alpha" state will last.

OK, so spit it out. What's wrong with the VC 2008 compiler?

Many software and game developers would like to hear you, since it's the most common compiler line on Windows.

It's not fully compatible with "old" operating systems. (Vista ain't compatible to anything, though.)
I'm a VC2003 coder and do know that every new compiler series takes at least two years to be stable...

Simply the best

It's not a bad program, but call me interested when I can customize the program icons and file icons as easily as with WinRar.

it's an awesome program, but still lacks some basics. like specifying a folder to extract when making a SFX archive. this is easily done in Winrar.

All-in-all this is superior software to winrar.

Actually, especially when speaking all-in-all, WinRAR gives this one a fight. Individually looking at features like compression ratios and price, it's nice, but looking all-in-all, WinRAR comes with tons more features, especially in SFX archive creation, and file manager completeness.

It's not even on the website's front page yet, so I think I'll wait for it to at least go beta. I use 7-zip too much to risk some severe bugs here.
