Regardless of the decreasing user amount on IRC networks, the Internet Relay Chat is still a popular chat network. Gamers.IRC is a bunch of scripts for the well-known IRC client mIRC, written in the MSL scripting language. These scripts provide many useful extensions to mIRC's default functionality, such as a theme engine, *BNC support, and many more. Gamers.IRC extends mIRC with many special features for gamers. It has been created specifically for you, the gamer!

I think the people who were using IRC for chat are still there but the warez leeches have moved on to torrent web sites.

I also use IRC for chat ans DCC send stuff, because MSN slows down the transfer...
I think it's still a very popular chat tool.

I use IRC. Ive been using IRC for god knows how many years now. I'm using mIRC and nnscript myself. I've tried Gamers.IRC a few times but I always go back to nnscript.

NNscript vs. Gamers.IRC, the "old war"...

regardless what others have said...there has been an "exodus" of sorts from IRC to other means of communicating. Around 20% of the userbase was lost. A lot of these would have been warez users as others above have mentioned.

I personally still use and love IRC network....however mIRC is the only client worth using imo....all the script kiddie ones defeat the object in my opinion.
