FileZilla is powerful Open Source FTP/SFTP client with many features. It includes a site manager to store all your connection details and logins as well as an Explorer style interface that shows the local and remote folders and can be customized independently. The program offers support for firewalls and proxy connections as well as SSL and Kerberos GSS security. Additional features include keep alive, auto ascii/binary transfer, download queue, manual transfers, raw FTP commands and more.

good for a FREE ftp client

although in general i prefer FlashFXP as i think it's overall features and interface is pretty much perfect

There's not much missing in FileZilla.
(For me.)

FlashFXP ain't freeware iirc? So it's a bad comparison. :/

yeah your right FlashFXP aint free... but it's my ftp client of choice... for free stuff overall FileZilla is pretty good.

basically besides the filezilla lacking the site to site transfers and secure transfers etc... i think main thing i miss is 'sort by' which FlashFXP has.... like sort by date/size etc when right clicking.

plus i think it's basic interface is perfect in flashfxp.

but for those who just casually use FTP stuff... in 'most cases' FileZilla will be 'good enough'
