U3 is for some "U3 Smart drive" whatever that is. Just download the normal version if you dunno what it is.

Thanks for the update on this, previous versions worked great

U3 comes with some USB keys nowadays its like a small program manager (similar to the portable apps drive suite...) i thik it comes on some of the SanDisk drives... Manages software etc that runs direct from the key and file browsing stuff like that... Pointless for experienced users

"i think"

U3 is actually quite nice, unlike Portable Apps it can password protect your drive (and asks you the password upon inserting before letting you see the content of the key) and has a much larger range of software available including commersial versions like roboforms etc, it runs as though it is a permanent CD drive (takes over a specific drive letter when inserted) and mounts your USB drive, this makes adding software easy as the drive path is always the same.

Actually Yes you can defrag a pen drive but no, it's so you can carry your defragger around with you to other pc's and run it without installing the software on the pc.

Saw this way earlier this morning. Just got around to trying it. Glad I'm on a junk computer. Stupid program deleted my profile! That's always a good thing for some program to do by default. Deleted!! First time I've EVER had to use system restore. That computer was still running the original XP Pro installation from Sept. '03!

Never have liked or used any version of this guys stuff. Thought maybe he/they had gotten it togeter, now that it has a gui. Can't believe anybody uses it or recommends it! I don't and won't.

You obviously messed up somewhere as there is no "delete profile" feature.
It will however, clean up temp files and so forth.

Sometimes you just have to read the documentation.

me personally overall i prefer JKDefrag just straight up without any GUI's ... cause to me if it aint official you might as well just run it with the command line switches
