Yeah, baby!!

Now when this comes out through the repos in Linux, I'll use it.
Besides, the versions I use are called IceWeasel and Bon Echo, depending on if I'm using Blag70000 or Zenwalk 5.0!

Even at that, this is only my backup browser to Seamonky.

Otherwise, wouldn't and don't install this on Windows.

Updates are a bad thing, remember. I mean, IE7 doesn't need updating from Windows Update or anything, never.

Of course it was it. It was obviously sarcasm.

Firefox is a great browser. IE7 is a good immitation.
FF is still more secure...More users = more flaws, I love surfing with FF and I feel very secure with it.

Yes, more secure. More stable? No. I have 3X as many crashes with FF as IE7 (w/IE Pro of course!
I am looking forward to 3.0 also.

me personally, stability is a non-issue cause "both" ( IE and Firefox ) are more then stable enough for what they do

im a full time Firefox user myself and sure i get crashes once in a while but it's fairly rare and usually certain website with some sorta plugin like flash etc that makes it crash.

and overall (like was said above) Firefox is probably overall more secure just cause it has less users ... so basically it wont be as targeted as IE will in general.

plus another reason Firefox i think is better than IE in general is cause once you get add-on's like "Adblock plus" and "NoScript" it makes Firefox even more secure and blocks noticeably more popups vs IE

Tried this browser, it's passable, but not as good as some of the competition.
Backed by huge marketing push though.

You really need to customise the arse off of Firefox to realise it's full potential.

If you are a heavy user, then in my opinion it can't be beat.

Firefox 2.0.0.12 information leak vulnerability
http://www.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Ful...2/msg00157.html
"don't patch vulnerabilities for fifty percent, take the time and fix the cause. Because directory traversal through plugins is all nice and such, we don't need it. We can trick Firefox itself in traversing directories back. I found another information leak that is very serious because we are able to read out all preferences set in Firefox, or just open or include about every file stored in the Mozilla program files directory, and this without any mandatory settings or plugins.," said Ronald van den Heetkamp

Oh, please... That made it onto Slashdot too - not only is that a very low-risk issue, it was not introduced in this update. All that can do is read the settings etc in the Firefox program directory (in Program Files), not your profile directory in AppData. So, it can't get at your passwords, cookies - not even your preferences. All it can get are global preferences etc, essentially making it a non-issue.

I agree they should fix it, but it's not a massive-red-letters vulnerability - it's barely worth mentioning.

I don't know which version this started in but I found a very annoying problem. If you open two Firefox windows and close one of them, it closes them both! Maybe nobody has noticed because everyone uses tabs, but sometimes I do open more than one window to help keep things organized, and if closing one means I lose all of them I guess I'm going to have to use a different browser for a while. Somebody really needs to fix this.

I'm afraid that doesn't happen with me on windows XP.

Really? Maybe something is messed up on my system then, I'll have to try it on a different computer.

I am not sure why people just do not switch to Opera.

There I said it. No one has so far bought it up so I had to.

And I have no viruses and issues with Trojan, etc. and no vulnerabilities that plague other browsers.

This is why I ditched firefox and went back to IE7. Sure IE has more updates, but seriously, why does every freakin time they update 0.0.0.01 all my plugins and themes die. "These are not supported in this version". Seriously, what did they change? It was a security update, there is NO reason for my themes to stop working. Sure it may be customizable, but whats the point when twice a month you have to search for updates to all your plugins and themes?
#14.1 Volatile on 11 Feb 2008 - 19:38
very good complaint.. I hate that too, but I still love firefox :p

I use Web Developer Toolbar, SEOQuake, FireFTP, ChatZilla, GSpace, IETab, to name a few, and I don't have these problems. What Extensions are you referring to?
