I would stay with the 8.2's. I have a 3870 x2 and crossfire is disabled on this driver.
My 3dmark06 score went from 18119 to 13100 running xp pro sp2.
Its also a nightmare to uninstall, will not let me roll back to the 8.2.
Gonna have to reformat
It's always worked well for me, but maybe AMD made some big changes. Might be worth a shot.

when attempting to launch DirectX based games when using an ATI AGP

Is this for real? Has anybody tried it on an AGP card?
Anyone know how to overcome the issues please post. It will not work in x-fire for me on my 3870x2.
Have also come across some new drivers similar to Omega drivers. Work quite well:
