CodeLite IDE Revision 1145 for C/C++ is now available for download (for Windows & Linux ).

CodeLite is a powerful open-source, cross platform IDE for the C/C++ programming languages (regulary tested on Windows XP sp2, Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, Fedora Core 6 and Debian lenny/sid). CodeLite is distributed under the terms of the GPL license.

Looks nice. I still prefer Notepad++ though. I wouldn't mind using it for editing code, but I don't enjoy compiling from the IDE. Give me a text editor, and a command line any day!

Because of this and the fact that Notepad++ lets me work with PHP, Python, Ruby and more, I won't choose this.

However, I can see this as being a lightweight alternative to Visual Studio in Windows. I swear that it takes at least ten seconds to get past the splash screen, open up the Welcome page, and wait for my input. When I want to code, let me code!
