It mostly just displays information in the same way CPU-Z does for your CPU/RAM.
I got BSOD in XP too. I have Sapphire Radeon 2600 XT. But strangely in Windows 2003 SP1 which have older drivers installed didnt crashed the app and showed all the info correctly.
