Nice... ObjectDesktop 2007 had everything and was 50usd, now you have to pay 70usd for the Ultimate version
to get what seems to be the same programs that were in 2007! by the time new versions will come... the ultimate will drop to 50usd.

"And 6 other applications"

Hmm... Sold!

What the hell?

I paid for the last ObjectDesktop after being told I would be able to get the upgrade for free. It included things like TweakVista and SkinStudio.

Now they are charging extra for what was already included??

EDIT:
"Anyone with an active subscription to ObjectDesktop.net on March 31, 2008 will automatically get upgraded to Object Desktop Ultimate free of charge. Object Desktop Ultimate will be $69.95 for new users and will include: ..."

So according to that, I do get the full version of everything still. Good.

No, DeskScapes 2.0 is still in beta at the moment.

Object Desktop: The way to make your system marginally prettier at the cost of some serious performance.
#7.1 briangw on 10 Apr 2008 - 22:55
Funny how you comment on that not actually trying it. Try using it for awhile and get back to us, ok?

Funny how the trolls come out to graze......

and seriously, what makes you think I haven't tried it? I've wanted to love it, but every time my system loses. tough luck for me, maybe.

(LOL, first time someone calls me a troll.)
#7.3 Island Dog on 11 Apr 2008 - 12:54
I even run Object Desktop on a VM of XP with no "serious performance issues". If would be more helpful if you could tell which component is causing you problems.

Idk. Upgrade your hardware? I've got it running on two boxes with no "serious performance" issue. If you're going to criticize something, at least go into detail why. Comments like what you made will make casual users think less about trying out the application and supporting a deserving company such as Stardock.

And no, I don't work for them; I've been using their products since version 3 days when they were a lot worse, performance-wise.

no serious performance hit but yet a loss on performance.

No, I don't think you have tried it recently Or perhaps you are running a system powered by an AMD Duron with 128mb of ram and one of the old Gforce 3 cards You know there are millions of people out there who enjoy this software on basic machines, like mine, who do not suffer any performance hit at all. So your comment is ridiculous and ill informed. If you want to make a comment, back it up with some evidence by showing us a running task manager with the apps running and then perhaps someone might listen. Nah, didn't think you would

#8.1 Island Dog on 11 Apr 2008 - 12:57
WindowFX isn't supported on Vista. There will eventually be an application for Vista that replaces that.

get linux
#10.1 briangw on 14 Apr 2008 - 02:35
Why? Does it support Stardock software. Oh right....guess not!
#10.2 Island Dog on 14 Apr 2008 - 18:00
What is the point of the "get linux" posts?
#11 While You Were Art on 14 Apr 2008 - 18:45
What is it with Stardock! They have basically decent products - or at least the last time I tried windowblinds it actually sped up XP; I'm now a Mac user - but you go to the homepage and you see the most gaudy and over the top desktops. Is this any kind of way to sell products to anyone over the age of ten years? People of that age don't have much of a disposable income, anyway. What kind of business model is that? I say this as a frustrated fan.

I think the point of the get Linux posts is that Linux presents a streamlined interface relatively free of bloat that is freely configurable and fast. I was going to say it looks pretty good but I'm not sure I think that. I do know if Stardock released windowblinds for Linux or Leopard I would buy it. What's Kol up to these days?

personal experience here-

Stardock products have always caused system instability and performance problems namely WindowsBlinds

Other Stardock products such as ObjectDock and IconX were simply just annoying to get rid of and liked to mess things up when they go- I guess if you dedicate yourself to the software you wouldn't see any backlash but I don't like to dedicate to anything.

like I said personal experience please try it out for yourself before believing a word, it may run perfect for you.
