Axialis Software has released IconWorkshop version 6.20, a professional authoring tool which permits to create, convert and manage icons for Windows (up to 256x256 for Windows Vista) and for Mac OS (up to 512x512 for Leopard). This major release includes the following features:

Fully compatible with Windows Vista - The User Interface has been fully redesigned for Windows Vista. The program is fully compatible with UAC (User Account Control).
Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 plug-ins compatible with Windows Vista - Now you can install the Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 plug-ins and use them under Windows Vista.
Batch Merge feature - With the Professional Edition you can create a set of icons by merging several images with a common background (a button for example).
Built-in RSS reader - Stay on top of Axialis news with this handy RSS reader.

yeah, nice marketing trick

. Look at AX-Cursors, same license, not updated since 1998... I hope IW will not end like that.

There are free alternatives like IcoFX, Greenfish Icon Editor or Pixelformer, which are nearly as good as IW, and the commercial alternatives like RealWorld Icon Editor kick IW's ass. But IW still has the the Image Objects and thats a big +.

Would you guys say this is the BEST icon pack to get over some of the other stock icons you can find on the net?

$60 seems cheap compared to the $300 others are charging, not to mention you have these 'objects' with which you can create seemingly infinite icons.

It's not an icon pack. This is an icon workshop-type application to create, view, edit, etc.

But regardless, this software is the best of its kind. I used to use Microangelo and once I found this, it's all I use.

But don't you get access to a bunch of icons once you are a registered user? Does Axialis offer an icon pack in addition to this software?
